Kaupthing Edge - Unable to Withdraw!!!
Comments

Also tried using IE7 & Firefox web browsers, still unable to withdraw from KE0

I love all the replies with "Ive taken my money out but I do still have savings with them", as if to justify the withdrawal as not being over panic.
What you do with your money, whether it be withdraw because your worried about all the talk, or leave in because you love the rate, is your decision, no need to justify it, some will be concerned by latest developments, some won't, it's your decision
:T As deep an analysis as you can get......:rotfl:
From another thread'........
I'll be taking my money out, but not because of panic, but because I can now combine it with one of my other accounts once the £50k limit comes in on Tuesday' :T'
Guess who?0 -
Deposits in KE are protected upto 35k and will be protected upto 50k from Tuesday. It would be preferable if depositors took heed of the protection afforded and stopped moving their cash out of banks and thus probably causing the respective bank to destabilise.0

Well it worked for me at 23.30. Must just be your money they want to hang on to.0 -
At last after nearly an Hour of trying I have managed to withdraw £30,000, so feel a little better now. Leaving enough in, hopfully not to destabalise the bank too much;)
So if any one else is experiancing problems - keep trying, also inform the bank they have a problem with there IT, they may be un-aware of the panic it may be causing0 -
I had similar problems trying to withdraw some cash from Icesave.
I eventually resorted to telephoning them, when a very helpful lady did the transaction for me.
I tried on internet again about an hour later and had no problem at all.
Could it be that all us nervous people are accessing their system and causing it to overload due to excessive demand?0 -
There are reports that the Icelandic government is going to force the merger of Kaupthing and Landsbanki (Icesave). That might have something to do with it.

I've just moved a small test amount from Icesave just to check the accounts are all working, absolutely no problems at all, I'm not withdrawing my main funds with them though, so don't panic! They are still enjoying a very good interest rate. I've also a fat fixed term with them, which I'm equally not worrying about.
KE works fine, and I'm looking forward to adding some more to the balance on Tuesday...0
