You can sprinkle Bouillon power in with it once its cooked. I use the one in a tub with an orange lid - I think it might be something marigold.
saute some Onions (lots), chop loads of fresh parsley, mix those in and add soy sauce. Yummy - also good cold.
Or just put soy sauce on it.
Do persevere tho, you will get used to the taste - i could never go back to eating white rice now.0 -
After a health kick a few years ago, I developed a taste for brown rice cooked with a Kallo organic veggie stock cube. The rice was yummy cold with some sunflower seeds etc stirred in. I second the recommendation to try basmati rice, it is nicer than ordinary rice and usually quicker to cook.0

I did have the brown rice the other night and it wasn't too bad. I seasoned it with some freshly chopped herbs and sprinkling of chicken oxo!0

Hello Deleted_User,
Well, I cook both brown rice and white rice. I find the brown rice very filling for some reason but it does take ages to cook. The white rice I buy is the frozen packets from Tescos which amazingly only requires one or two minutes cooking.
Now both types of rice to me taste somewhat bland, so what I do is stir in a teaspoonful of curry powder after the rice is cooked. This is really tasty. I understand you don’t want to add spices. I cannot think of anything else to say. I am a male – lol.The £2 Coin Savers Club = £346.00 (£300.00 transferred to Savings a/c)

Mix brown and white rice together. Less brown at first until you get used to it. I am a school cook and that is what we started doing a few weeks ago. We are now up to half and half and the children now love it after moaning a bit a first.Wendy0

As the title suggests, how can I make brown rice more exciting ... Not necessarily as part of a meal - just to eat on its own ...
I want to start eating more of it but don't know what sauces to have with it .... Anyone got any ideas?
Thank you ....:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

If you bung a stock cube of your choice in the cooking water, you'll find that the rice takes up the taste of the stock cube. Then you can just mix in whatever veg or meat you want.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0

I often add peas and sweetcorn, and also crack an egg into it and mix before serving - lovely version of egg fried rice.
Its nice with grated cheese on top too!!!
We changed to brown rice about 5 years ago, and my children only realised a few months ago - DS tried to complain, but i told him he had been eating it fine for 4 years, so could stop the winging!!!!0 -
