I am currently without my typing hand so forgive me while I type one fingered, I'll be brief!
try putting a hot water bottle in the bed she is sleeping in half hour before bed, they like warm environments when being put down 4 sleep.
One fab way we did the bottles is boil water and poor into bottles then leave on side to cool. When baby is ready for food pour in powder shake and heat. That way you can feed much easier when on the go, and you don't take up fridge space.
To wake in the day strip her down to vest and nappy if she is determined not to wake. To keep her awake during feeds circle her hand or tickle her spine. Try to keep her stimulated, if nothing else works I know some might baulk at this but Baby mozart dvd is fab, even at this young age they follow the shapes and music is soothing.0 -
Thanks everyone its great to hear we are on the right track.
We gave her bath about an hour after her feed last night and she brought a lot of it back up again so tonight we have just bathed her and she will get her feed in about 20 mins or so before we put her in the pram till we got to bed.
Unfortunatly its not the mattress thats the problem in the basket its the material on the side, we have tried the damp cloth but is still a bit smell if you put your nose to it.
Good to hear what we are doing with the kettle is ok.
Thanks again and I look forward to speaking with all you family people
p.s Its daddy here.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
Same as Becles and Rikki for my poor children, if I was in the kitchen then thats where mine were in the pram! I stopped nothing for them, the hoovering and the washing machine were used as per usual ! But I have to say maybe thatswhere I went wrong cos now they are oblivious to me when the tv is on now!
Best Wishes to you all and enjoy her too. awwww new babies...Panda xx

Re drinking the bottle fast and being sick. I had this problem with my first daughter and I swapped the bottle teat to a variflow which is a slit rather than a hole and then she gulped down less air with the feed and didnt burp/sick it all up.
Dont apologise for not breastfeeding. It isnt ideal for everyone and whats best is what suits the mum and the baby best. Dont forget a fretful, worried mum makes a fretful baby.
Try putting an item of her mums clothing in the cot which will sooth her.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

I'd still boil it just to be safe... but I know that in France it's deemed fine to use bottled water (Evian etc) straight from the bottle to mix formula.....0 -
"she would cry every night for the first 6 weeks, from the time our dinner hit the table until 11pm or 2 am. Then it stopped and she slept through like an angel!)"
The best piece of advice I ever had was to remember that they will stop crying eventually! Whether it's in two minutes or two hours... they will stop!
