The B&B website [1] indicates that interest rates on many of their accounts will be slashed with effect from this Sunday 16 November. Particularly relevant to this thread, the Internet Saver 3 rate has been cut from 6.01% to 4.51% gross.

Their Good For Life ISA is down to 3%
Not good as far as I'm concerned.
  • OHHHHHHHH - that's not good :(

I was just thinking it might drop to about 4 and a half - looks like ICICI is still looking good for no notice @ 5.5 then. How am I supposed to diversify when there's only two 6%+ no notice accounts?

Things are going from bad to worse.

Can you tell me what no notice accounts are still around at 6%+ ?

How've you managed that? Did you transfer out using CHAPS?
    Yes, CHAPS, worth every penny...

These are good atm, but haven't adjusted yet for the big cut of last week

Only one still available to my knwledge is the Halifax Guaranteed Saver Reward (6.0%), but it comes with a few caveats (need a current account fed with £1000pm plus a minimum og £2500 in the GSR; maximum 4 withdrawals a year, otherwise you get a lower rate... and it ends on 1 Dec)

Of the two I talked about, the other is the Egg 6.3 but if you don't already have it it's closed to new business. Very few good new accounts available, but ICICI is relatively high at 5.5%

Don't forget the Barclays 7.75% Monthly Saver as an option - that is very flexible, but is restricted to you putting in just £250pm
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

Having a look at the website today I cannot find this listed. I realise it is not a currently available account. Where do we find the interest rates?

I still would not be able to find it without your direct link!

from home page click on savings

then on saving page on right hand side under the phone number there are pale grey boxes that say 'current interest rates' and 'previous interest rates'

Nice one, Doh! I was starting logged in to my accounts. You don't get the option from there.

That aside, labelling it 'previous rates' is a little misleading when I want to know the current rate!

    Cheers again
