  • Having an OK week! DH payday today, so I must do the dreaded monthly financials. It's not going to look overly golden, since I don't have a job at the moment. Will do an update with my February planned spending & goals.

Need to 'mysupermarket' my monthly shop to see where I'm off to this evening!

Transferred another £71 from Ebay sales, so my January total is looking wonderful! I'm still waiting on one more payment then that's all until I list some more items - which should hopefully be tomorrow & the weekend.

Popped to the Docs yesterday. Got officially weighed. Have lost 7kg/15lbs since just before Christmas! I'm ecstatic with that! I've struggled so much in the last few years to lose weight.

Planned to buy the (expensive) ladies monthlies on my CC yesterday :( , but lovely Mummy bought it for me. :D She also took me to lunch to cheer me up. Double bonus!

  • Hi Retro

Sorry to hear your ‘accident’ of falling off the “wagon”……. I can only recommend doing a to do list every day to keep you on it… that helps me as when I come back on here and realise I haven’t done stuff – it kicks me up the bottom! (so to speak).

Doodle’s diary inspired me, she’s a single mum with puppy, working a lot from home and since October has managed to clear £3k… I could never do that – but she’s still inspired me to keep on my debt free journey!

We’re here for support (and kicks up the bottom… sorry encouragement).. when you need it!!!

  • Some good points and bad points about the last few days. Actually mostly bad! :(

    - Straighteners broke. Something I strictly cannot live without. I have really thick hair & after washing look like something from Crystal Tips & Alistair...

+ Asked Mum to pick up straighteners from Argos on her way home (to save my petrol) & she bought them & refused being paid back for them! :D

    - HSBC recently bumped DH's CC interest rate to 24.9% from about 18%. Capital One have now changed theirs to 39.9%! That's INSANE! So we're actively looking for a 0% balance transfer. If we'll be accepted is another issue completely!

+ Won a dvd! Sex & The City. Love that movie.

    - Did the finances. Everything looks balanced despite me not working. BUT I wanted to be actively paying off debt by now. Over & above. Not minimum payments. Need to get some Ebay listings done this weekend to try to kick-start this.

I haven't really spoke about my business that much on here, as it's not quite relevant. But I have a Limited Company that until August 08 was a physical store in the city. We had to close, through no fault of our own, and so had to take the business online only. Since August 08 trade has slowly fell. I blame the economy & the lack of time we've been able to focus on the business due to being forced to get full time jobs etc. Either way we're just making enough to cover the monthly business bank loan. We can't afford to keep up with the requirements needed by having a Ltd Co, such as accountants do to end of year stuff, corporation tax, etc. Let alone pump money into the business to keep it turning over. So, we're selling off all the remaining stock we have & going to close the company. We'll keep something going but in the form of being a Sole Trader, where there are much less legal/government requirements. We have to really because I'm not paying the bank loan out of our finances! We can't afford it! But the fresh start will do us good, and hopefully the potential business involved.

    - I'm going to be spending a LOT of my time winding up the business, selling the left over stock & assets etc. But hopefully it will only take a few weeks.

+ Payment to Halifax today took it below the £2k mark! Woo!

Things I really need to do today:
    - Check bank accounts (when they will let me in!).
    - Update finance sheets.
    - Business Ebay listing.
    - Do some decorating in the hall. It's taking me SO long to do this.
    - Home Ebay listing.
    - Do gardening diary. Some things should have been planted indoors right now, so I will do my diary & get that done this weekend.
    - Get a 'to do' list done for the weekend. It's going to be BUSY! Normally we waste our Saturday's... can't do that this weekend.

  • Sounds like you've been busy. Good luck with the ebay listing :) It is the most tedious thing in the world... I have a build up of stuff to do but I just can't seem to get my fat a$$ moving!
