Probably a matter of time before they go up as well. I bought Asda Smart Price oats this morning 1 kg for 58p. Also bought 10 lots of butter at 47p each (down from 84p).“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Never thought I'd see the day but I geuinely feel Tesco are getting a bit desparate. Only time I've ever really shopped there is when they had no-brainer offers on their clubcard vouchers. Last time was a few months ago when, by being a bit crafty by ordering lager I knew woudl be OOS, I got a total of £180 worth of deals for a total outlay on beer of £80 (spread across 4 orders). Will pay for another weekend at The Hilton, lol. Haven't touched them since cos their 'ordinary' prices are ridiculous.
I got an email from them other day offering £6 off a £60 spend online. Wrote back saying I don't shop there any more as they are just too expensive and, no offence, but offering £6 off a £60 spend aint gonna tempt me back. Here's the reply I got:Dear Mr ********,
Thank you for your email.
I'm sorry to hear you're unhappy with our prices, I can understand how disappointing this would be for you.
If you do change your mind, then this ecoupon for £6 off £60 off online shopping is valid until 15th March. If you were receive an order on or before this date, please get back in contact with me and I would be happy to refund the Service Charge on your next order, as a gesture of goodwill.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting ************.

I was casually complaining to the CS at the till on the weekend about how the prices on some items had gone up drastically recently and she said, and I quote, 'management are doing their best to make up for all the items that have been reduced to £1' . Shame on Mr T :eek:I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Thanks for pointing that out, those are the ones I normally buy, but I'm popping to Asda tomorrow, so I'll see how much theirs are.0 -
Is it wrong to sometimes dilute whole milk with water to put on cereal if i'm on a diet, instead of buying skimmed milk?
I'm not always such a cheapskate though, usually buy 1% fat milk (orange top) from Sainsburys for £1/2L0 -

Its also 2 litres at Farmfoods , not 4 pints
The only 4pint for £1 i know of is Sainsburys 0.1% Milk, we have been buying this for quite a while0 -

No problem with that whatsoever, although I would dilute down semi-skimmed instead of full fat if you are looking for a 'skimmed' result. I do it all the time with the full fat milk that the kids have and they never, ever know! sssshhhh!!:shhh:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0
