  • Aldi have followed suit. Their cat food is now 45p (up from 33p). That's a whopping 36% increase.:mad:

    £2.70 for 6, £5.40 for 12.

I'll have to teach him to catch mice.

1kg of Tesco own-brand (not Value or Finest) dried spaghetti was 86p, now £1.15!!

I bought this when it was at the cheaper price and in our store it said it was at that price to match the ALDI price, it was cheaper buying 2x1kg than the 2kg packet. Guess that have given up with their ALDI price matching.

Noticed that Aldis had jumped up in price too! Good luck with the mice catching - I have 4 cats and only one catches anything, frogs

Just been to Tesco -12 cans KiteKat is £4,79 but no longer cheaper to buy two packs of six as they have gone up to £2.49 each now
    Anyone want some cats? :A

i have noticed that their petrol prices are starting to creep back up again last week they were 84.9p per litre and today it was 86.9p.
the petrol prices never did go down as much as what the crude oil prices did, so we were still being ripped off on fuel prices.

You cant blame Tesco for that, all forecourts have put prices up. It was in the papers last week.

However, Special k little bags of bites have gone from £1.79 to £2.19, have also put the bars up by a similar amount but put them on 2 for £3, thats fine if you want/can afford to buy 2.

Ahhhh... but locally, Tesco were ahead of all the other petrol retailers by about a week, in putting their prices up.

The local Shell, became 2p per litre cheaper for about 2 weeks, then they put their price up by a penny and Tesco did the same a few days later, so they are still 2p per litre dearer.

Every little helps line Tesco's pockets, yeah!

MattLFC, that is a fair point because other than new years eve when Tesco were the first to reduce it to 82.9p, they are without fail always the last to reduce the price, but first to put it up.
I took them to task on being the last to reduce and the first to raise and i got a load of bull about the PFS staff reacting to local changes etc etc.

It's always baffled me why we have a local price for petrol and not stuff like newspapers, tins of beans, pet food etc it's not just Tescos but all petrol retailers except Asda

It depends on what competition there is. They will all price to what the area will bear.

We were a Tesco only town untill Morrisons came and then you saw Tesco prices come down.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I'm just back from Lidl. Their "Coshida" brand has jumped to 45p as well, but they were still doing six-packs for £2.19, equalling about 37p per can.

Don't think that's gonna last (the price, not the cat food.)
