Easyjet throwing woman off flight for 'abuse'

I went through a budget flight recently,easyjet i think, and security asked me to go into a curtained cubicle because i was "beeping".
As us ladies know,the metal wire in our bras can sometimes set off their scanners (together,it turned out with metal-covered buttons on my blouse). They couldn't have been more polite and I volunteered to lift up my top so they could check if this was the case.They didn't demand it,but were unfailing polite and sensative of how this might have bothered me (it didn't,they were just doing their job!).It's a difficult job,even more so if people get stroppy.
However, I did once see a security guard in italy emerge from his office putting on a pair of rubber gloves-I suppose that's their idea of a joke?0 -
Step by step:
- The woman gave up her crackers...
- We (the public) didn't see her arguing about taking the crackers so have only the airline workers say so that she was aggressive.
- The only time we see her is when she is arguing with the manager at the counter, when she is understandably upset and stressed because she has been denied her flight.
- They took her money to provide a service. They decided not to provide a service and didn't refund her money because of hearsay evidence.
Step by step- she threw her crackers onto the counter and either hit or narrowly missed an employee.
- No need to see any other footage of aggressive behaviour - the cracker throwing is evidence enough.
- they took her money but she didn't maintain her end of the bargain by behaving in an adult and responsible manner. What would she be like after drinking on the plane????
If someone swings a punch at you, or lunges at you with a knife, but misses are you saying because there was no contact it's ok?
I'm sorry but if an adult behaves that way after being told of the rules and consequences then they don't deserve to fly.
I didn't see the program and I'm going on the posts above.
I'm all for idiots like this being refused a seat - it makes flying safer and more pleasant for everyone else.
EDIT : aren't crackers regarded as explosive devices and not permitted on planes anyway? If so, it's another reason for refusal

Two choices
1 - Let a loon fly and put a plane full of passengers and your crew at risk.
2 - Throw the loon off and everyone else is happy.
In this day and age you have to be either living in a cave or monumentally stupid to try to get on a flight with a box of crackers.
Am I the only one wondering if the OP was the passenger?It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -

To be fair, if you cannot prove what is inside an item when asked then they have no choice but to open them - do they ever give your items back? Once inspected I don't see why not. This has to be expected now and it's more thanks to our 'home grown' terrorists than officious airline staff.
Just imagine if those crackers didn't contain silly little toys...
We would all be asking how they got through...
just noticed, they aren't allowed anyway - like many historically and usually innocent items - we can't be too careful.0 -
i took crackers on board the other week
spead them with a bit of butter, slice of cheese, and bit of branston
put them in my see through bag, and all was ok, infact all came out of the tunnel in tact0 -
You don't have to actually hit someone to be guilty of assault. Just swinging a punch, squaring up to them etc is enough. OK this woman probably wouldn't be charged as it doesn't sound like a very serious offence but easyjet are within their rights to bar someone threatening from a flight - especially if they are unable or unwilling to accept that letting what can be used as a sparking mechanism (cracker bangers) onto a flight is a bad idea.0

Good, I'm glad she got bumped off the flight. Some people need to be taught a lesson in manners and the fact that the customer is not always right.
I work in a call centre at the minute and was called an effing sl** by someone the other day. He wanted a cruise holiday. I told him he would be better suited spending his money on anger management counselling and told him never to call again. My manager backed me all the way. When I worked in a shop I was threatened many times with physical violence by people who think getting assertive (read aggressive) will get them their refund/compo/free cancellation etc. It's all very well "consumer revenge" but very often people think us service employees have to kneel down and kiss their wotsits because they "pay our wages".0 -
