  • The average value of your cars is £6750.

I understand what you say about having two cars, and I can see why people are telling you that the second is a luxury.

Could you not sell one? Use £4000 of the sale to pay off the 2 loans where you're paying interest and then use the remaining money to buy a cheaper car? For £3000 you can get a good car that will last for years.

It will give you an extra £300 a month.

Daft: Thank you. Well my car is £12500 and OH is £1000, and the tricky thing is, my car is the newer one, most reliable and more suited to a small family, whereas OH's car is old and not so reliable. It will talk to OH about it though

Well it looks like you're going to be moving soon regardless - so try and pick an area where you can get deliveries to make things a bit easier :)
Working for your dad - do you get "special" benefits ie would they give you full pay maternity pay? Or what is the maternity deal likely to be?

Problem solved... sell yours buy something for a couple of grand that is still "family" friendly and you can keep the second car luxury and clear the debts and STILL have some money spare to fall back on should you need it ie for a deposit on a flat to rent...

If we move into the house that my parents and sister swap and pay the £750 + bills then we still will not be able to get shopping delivered. We could move somewhere else (about 45 mins away) where they do deliver but then we will have furthur to travel to work - i.e for fuel. ..... I best buy a lottery ticket on the way home! :D

The car is on Finance so if I sell it, I will have to give the money back to Audi, so I wouldnt be able to buy a 2nd car at all

Well how much is the finance left on the car? it's a huge chunk of money to either owe or have tied up devaluating

I bought the car for £12500. its on finance for 3 years and I am soon due to make the second payment, at the end of the 3 years I will either have to pay £6000 and keep the car, or give the car back and have £6000 to put on another car which is what i plan to do. So im paying half the price of my car and giving it back in 3 years time

So the car is worth £12500 and I owe £6259.40 on it which is made in monthly payments of £184.10 - Leaving me with a 'bubble' of £6k at the end for another car

That isn't going to help you if you can't afford to pay rent and bills... Add on top of that baby costs ie childcare when you return to work... You can't have your cake and eat it I'm afraid...

If you can find that kind of money then fair do's. But can you?
