about £70-£80 pw for 2 adults and 1 child. thats everything inc nappies which cost £9 a packet and about £20 pw on meat from the butchers. some times it's less than this sometimes more depends if we need things like loo rolls as i stock up and buy huge packs when they are on offer.0

Mine is just under £350 per month, on average. That's for 2 adults (some organic meat but some value items too, no ready meals/packaged food - I cook from scratch) and 2 large cats (plus the whole neighbourhood cat population, it seems!). It includes occasional clothing purchases too - things like underwear, socks and tights, a pair of jeans or a basic shirt when needed. We hardly drink any alcohol, and we buy fairly cheap red wine (in Lidl) for cooking. Oh, and the grocery budget also covers packed lunches (mostly leftovers or home-made wraps).
Just calculated, it comes to about £80 per week. I could probably cut it a little before I would have to compromise on quality...Cogito, ergo sum.0 -
Average of about £50 per week for 2 adults and one 4year old. That includes daily packed lunch for DH and a bottle of wine, or something stronger each week.
The secret to a cheap food shop is not to take the children or the husband with you

We spend around £40 a week for 2 adults, a 4 year old, 1 dog and 3 cats. That includes cleaning products, loo roll, smellies etc. I meal plan for the week and we stick to that. My partner has packed lunches but my son eats at nursery twice a week so he has a lunch tea when he gets home and he is at his Dads every other weekend. Oh and that money is obviously including the animals food.0

There's two of us, and I spend £80 - 100 per month for all food, toiletries, and household products. It varies depending on how much batch cooking I already have in the freezer.
I meal plan each week, and work out exactly what I need for each dish, so there's not much waste, and I try to incorporate all my leftovers into another meal.
I tend to buy online (using a free delivery code, of course
) which I think keeps the costs down, as I'm not tempted by all the nice bakery smells, or the yummy looking snacks!
Good luck getting your budget down, like others have said, check out the OS board for tips

I spend about £10/week on food.
Say £8/month on toiletries/cleaning stuff etc.
Eating out/takeaways, probably £4/month.
No alcohol. No holidays.
There's only me.
After rent/bills on a studio bedsit I have about £350-400/month to live/run a car on, do everything. So food is one thing I do have control over.0 -
on a good week i can spend £60-70 on a bad week it can get up to £100
average spend around 75ish + mrs j can spend another 20 - 30 on top ups for 2 adults + 2 kids
sometimes i have a big trolley full and it comes to much less than i think it's going to , and then when i don't get so much it comes to more .0 -
About £350 max for us - two adults, 2 children (16 and 6), a dog and a cat.
That includes toiletries, cleaning stuff, dog and cat food, loo rolls, washing powder etc, ink cartridges for the printer and printer paper. Oh and things like plasters, headache tablets etc too.
I use HotdealsUK and get money off pretty much every week though - the pre-voucher/savings price is usually around £100 but I aim to pay no more than £80 including delivery.
£150 is fab honeypop! Not sure I could ever get ours that low! :T0 -
There are 2 of us and last month it was £350. This includes all supermarket shopping - some toiletries, cleaning stuff, occasional socks, etc... We are trying to get it down, but my OH won't compromise on food... Or cut down...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

We spend no more than £150 per month for the two of us (adults) and this includes all groceries (food and drink for 3 people as OH eats a LOT), toiletries, cleaning products and the odd hardware/household bits and pieces, and odd bits of clothing if we're at a big asda/tesco.
Ditto. Occasionally we go over if our fave wine is on offer (stock up) or there are a lot of offers on that will keep/freeze. Its why I've always got full eight freezer draws (but starting to use them up now!)
