I just wondered when I had last had some stamps and thought it must have been about 4 weeks ago, had just read this thread, looked on the Royal Mail survey site news and features and they have flagged up there the following, so looks like they are late with these, never actually keep a running check of if they are every month, this is what they say on page:
November's Monthly Stamp Run - in packs for posting w/c 1st December 20080 -
I'm into the 2nd week of the misdelivery survey. Really easy £6 as our posties are excellent & I can't remember the last time we received a misdelivery.
Hiya, :j
I've done this survey once before-it just arrived in the post to do. I would quite like to do it again. Any idea how you go abouts doing it? Would they just send it to me again, or would I have to apply?
Ta muchly in advance xx

Hi
On the page once you've logged in on their website there will be an invite for a mis-delivery. You won't always be invited i've done 4 this year but it might vary by area.

Ive been sending two letters for three or four weeks , i got 1st class 18 stamps , now i've just got an email from them
Dear Panellist
Thank you for sending the test letters and completing your survey tasks so far. You will shortly begin to receive test letters as well.
These are items that have been sent by other panellists like you, and through their date of posting information and your date of receipt information we can calculate how quickly Royal Mail are delivering items to and from every part of the Country.
To enter these on the internet site please click on the link “Receive any items to enter” and follow the steps. Remember to look for the “test” initials you chose at the survey recruitment stage on all your received mail as this will identify the survey items.
Also the posting packs you will be receiving from now on will contain test letters to be sent to other panellists on this survey, so you will be using different addresses for the envelopes you will be sending.
In both the pack and the items that you receive you may also find SMARTs.
What is a SMART?
A SMART sends out a small signal when it goes through mail sorting offices during its journey to our panellists. Theyonly transmit when in transit. This provides Royal Mail with information about the route a letter takes through their mail collection/ delivery system, helping them to identify and correct areas of their organisation where mail could be delivered faster. SMARTs will be in a sealed coloured sleeve, to make them immediately noticeable. It is important that you do not open or remove the SMART from the sleeve, as this makes it easier for us to process.
There will be a four letter code on each of the SMARTs you receive. You will need this code to data enter your items online.
In order to get the most use out of a SMART, we ask our panellists to use SMARTs they receive in items that they send out, hence rotating the SMARTs between panellists. In your posting pack you will also find a plastic wallet with “SMART HOLDER” written on it. This is for looking after your SMARTs until you are due to reuse them.
Please see the checklist below for simple instructions on how to complete your survey tasks with regards to SMARTs.
Sending
- Check weekly pack
- Check posting plan online
- Check 4 letter code for the SMART in the ‘Smart Number’ column
- Click on the item you are sending
- Answer the question online relating to the SMART that you are putting in that item
- Prepare the envelope as usual and put the SMART inside (item preparation can only happen once a 4 letter SMART code has been allocated)
- Enter the sending information online as usual
Receiving
- Open the item you have received
- Complete the receiving information online as usual
- Complete the additional question relating to the 4 letter code for the SMART inside the item
- Put SMART into the SMART Holder
- Return all items at the end of the week to Research International inside one of the large prepaid plastic envelopes addressed to Kantar Operations.
Over a period of time you will build up a stock of SMARTs which you will send in other items. We will manage the process, below is how it will work:
Some SMARTs will need to be returned to Research International, this information can be found by clicking on the ‘Manage my SMARTs’ and then clicking on the ‘List SMARTs currently in my stock’. Please check the list on Monday each week, as it will contain the 4 letter SMART code with the SMART status code beside it.
Status codes explained:
· Allocated – Identifies SMARTs allocated by Research International to an item that you are due to send at some point in the next couple of weeks
· Associated – Identifies SMARTs that you have put into an item and entered the sending information online
· Ready for Use – Identifies SMARTs in your stock
· Return to RI – Identifies SMARTs to return to Research International (please see information below for returning SMARTs)
· Awaiting Stock Check – Is for Research International office use
Returning a SMART to Research International
SMARTs with Status code Return to RI indicates we would like you to return the SMART with the relevant 4 letter code to Research International. In the option ‘Manage my SMARTs’ you will find ‘Return SMART to RI’, click on this, confirm the 4 letter code of the SMART you are returning and place any return SMARTs in the brown envelope supplied.
If you find you have too many (6+) SMARTs in your stock with the status “Ready for Use”, please return all but three of these SMARTs in the usual SMART return envelope. Do not worry about entering these returns online, we will remove them from your stock when we receive them.
Resolving Queries
From now on, you may see the section marked “Resolve Queries” go red. This will only happen if we want to confirm certain information regarding the posting or receipt of specific items you have processed for us. If button does go red, please click on the button and then follow the on screen instructions.
We are greatly appreciative of your help, and assure you that your survey tasks will not prove too time consuming.
If you have any questions please email us at: postalsurvey@research-int.com
Yours Sincerely
