You are right that it is only the items of mail which have been received which go in the large envelopes.

I don't think they look inside the big envelopes unless they need to check them for something in particular. So normally they would not open the envelope but just keep it for a while just in case.

So they would probably not find the unused Smart envelopes in the received mail envelopes.

Suppose fold and return them when returning a Smart but it is probably more trouble than it would be worth to them.

I spoke to someone at Kantar last year and they said to put the envelopes in with the items i was returning to them

When I asked about returning smart envelope's I was told the same as you Lannyloo and to put them in the large grey ones.
Thanks for any help and advice given

I must have about 10 spare smart envelopes. Should I sent some back to them or keep them?

I turn these inside out and use them to send small items that I sell on ebay.

Sorry if this has been answered before or I'm being a bit thick, but I would appreciate some advice.

Do I count ALL mail delivered including junk mail, or just mail with a name and address on it?

    Thanks

Correct me if im wrong but i dont think they like you putting anything but received items in the return envelopes

I have loads of spare envelopes that i dont know what to do with, especially the smart ones.

you're right they don't like it

I was sending the smart returns back in the big grey envelopes and they've never complained, but on the website now on the news and features page they're saying not to put anything else in them apart from the post you've recieved
    1. Return all received test items in the return envelope (pictured). Affix barcode label on back. Do not include anything that is not a test item in these poly-bags. They will be archived.

No probs at all, if your doing the 2 weekly mail count, count everything that comes through ur door, If its junk mail and says householder, 123 greens ave, salisburys, and that was ur address count it in, if its one thats just blank say a leaflet or similar, I personally ignore thise. x
