You can, and I have done a lot so know it's ok, put 1st class stamps on for a 2nd class parcel - no need to write 2nd class on it because they will work it out from the value of stamps. You can also buy stamps starting at 1p each if you need to for making up values HTH xx2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

A quick Q for postal experts on here, please -
I have now amassed a nice little collection of stamps and have a couple of parcels I want to send. Can I stick on 1st class stamps up to the value of the postage? If so, what if I wanted to send the parcel 2nd class, could I still use the 1st class stamps and write 2nd class on the parcel? Thanks for any help.
I sent a parcel yesterday with 1st and 2nd class stamps on it, it was a couple of pence short of the price and the girl at the post office just put the stamp on to make up the price and it was sent first class. I got my proof of posting off her and all was fine. You shouldn't have a problem whichever stamps you put on, it goes by the total value of the stamps. Hope this helpsPenny Pinching Pauline0 -

I used to get 2 or 3 letters a week, but over the past 3 weeks i seem to be getting 2 or 3 items a day. i've now got 8 smarts in stock having sent 6 back last week, and i also seem to be getting more things to post ie 3 items on the same day at different times. is it worth it?0

Only you can answer that lol.
I personally dont think its too much to prepare the items and send them/log things on the website, it fits around my home and work life.0 -

I seem to have a lot more things to post these last couple of weeks but not as many received, but its swings and roundabouts, even if there is a couple to post on some days, its still not hard to do and I can work it round other things I have to do. I have had weeks where I have had one or two things to post so can't complainPenny Pinching Pauline0 -
I wondered what was in the padded envelope and a 100g bag of Mini Eggs!! Normally they say when are are sending special stamps etc!
The £6 H.S.V. were a pain in Iceland as the cashier had to ask for a Supervisor to check them and then they said even though in date that the vouchers have changed style/colour and that was the last time they would accept the old style/colour!0
