Do Direct Parcel Distribution, or others, do collections from abroad, delivered into UK for similar prices?0
-
Yes, not sure about DPD- worth emialing though.
In the past we've booked overseas collections via klick couriers and transglobalexpress. Not especially cheap. You can also with interparcel, but they are dearer still.0 -
Okay I bit the bullet and used DPD this week for 5 parcels.
The Monday ones were not collected until tuesday (but read on here that dhl were having problems so I'll forgive dpd for that)
Is it worth applying for a account with dpd?
If so, do you have to pay up front?
Just asking because all the resellers that ask for money upfront seem to go belly up!I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
must add that the reseller I usually use is still operating and I've never had a problem with them paying money up front. Just that although they are 100% reliable, they are more expensive than dpd.
Note for armitage
I see you have removed ukce from the front page recommendations.
Is there a reason for that?I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
My understanding a few weeks back was they had stopped doing accounts, so I don't know.
I get the impression they are absolutely flat out. Hopefully some of the proceeds will go on a new website!
Answer: yeah, price predominantly, it's quite high and seemed to keep fluctuating, last time I looked they were £7.99. I don't know what it is now.0 -
I agree about the new website.
Adwatch goes into overdrive when using the dpd site.I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
Yeah, ukce are charging £7.99 but it's been £7.99 for quite a while apart from a couple of weeks ago when they were offering a special price of £7.25
But, I got an email off ukce today saying that their prices are going up on the 30th :-(I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
Just found this parcel delivery up to 70kg for £39.99.
Large/heavy services are often requested so this could be quite handy. Prior to this all we've had is interparcel and freightsearch, of which the former charges well in excess of £50 for the heavier weights.0 -
well, despite the bad experiences people are posting about Direct Parcel Distribution I think I will risk them. I am occasional ebayer and probably send 1-2 parcels a year so nowhere near as much as some other people on this thread.
Has anyone actually had any GOOD experience with DPD?0 -
They handle our International shipments and I have no qualms at all.
I think that by in large people are more positive than not to DPD. But as with anything a glaring 'they're rubbish' statement stands out a lot more than 'used them today- all fine', and as with every courier agent you will never be able please everyone (perhaps more applicable to this area of business than any other!).0
