I personally love Shock Absorber. You can sometimes get them from T K Maxx or in the Debenhams sale - I got a bright pink one for £7! Alternatively, Debenhams do a pack of one black and one white for about £35 which isn't bad.

Did my second run today, my legs still ache from the first one! I'm not finding the actual runs too difficult though which I'm surprised about. Really am struggling with having no good running clothes, might try pick up some cheap stuff when my pay clears.

Morning all, did my week 6 run 1 yesterday, thought that it would be a doddle as i finally managed my 20 min run last week... was I WRONG! It was difficult!! I did manage to get to the end of it but only managed a 10 min stint on the xtrainer afterwards (normally 30 min). I was exhausted! It makes that 25 minute run at the end of the week impossible... how on earth am i going to do it?

Ginvzt, you seem to be hammering through these running sessoins, you'll soon be overtaking me as i'm starting to repeat some of my runs now. Well done and keep going...

Treeny_bash, take it slowly maybe even so some brisks walks to get back into the swing of things? I suppose it will all help you do your 10k.

I've often thought the same thing, teachergirl was certain all of us were girls, i only discovered Idiophreak was a boy only a couple of weeks ago... and theres us talking about our wobbly bits... not that boys don't have them though!!:rotfl:I got a cheapy bra from Sports World shop, didn't think i really needed hardcore boob support as i only got small ones and the reebok one i got works fine...

Hello newbies, busiscoming2 and Sammy_Girl good luck with starting your runs.

I don't think I will be overtaking anyone! I am running very slow, so even if I reach week 9 and do 30min run, it will be no where near 5km! But it is a progress no less!

I also need to get a sports bra... Unfortunately, I can't just pop into Asda or TKMaxx or similar, as they never have my size! I need to make my trip to Bravissimo, as I would like to make sure it fits well and try it on before I buy (at last measuring I was 32HH!!!). In the end it is a lot of money to just spend online without knowing it will fit well.

Oh and we have new challenge at home between me and OH - we have to do 30 sit ups a day - 1000 a month. Only decided on it this weekend and I did my 30-40 (lost count!) yesterday. Might increase the goal next month!

Ok, run tonight - I am probably going to attempt week 5... At least run 1 sounds easier than last week's - you get 3 minutes of rest between the runs and total running time 15 minutes instead of 16.... (I know, optimist me...)

Just wondering if anyone else wants to start a new thread? I don't want to go ahead and do it seeing as I disappeared for ages and for some reason it seems cheeky :rotfl:

Martin likes us to start a new one after a thread reaches 1k posts.

Good luck with week 5 tonight ginvzt, I wonder if I'll actually get that far this time around!

It's your last run and it's ONLY 3 minutes who was he kidding!!! Just done week 3 run 1. I don't look at them beforehand just run when I am told....I did it. I did it:) feel really proud of my self because I had had a really stressful morning and all I wanted to do was lie down on the sofa and slob. It wasn't too bad despite my initial horror. Psychologically speaking, I'm with you ginvzt only having to do 4 runs felt better than 6 or 8.
Drea I am a relative newby to posting so I would not know how to start a new thread. If you do it can you leave really easy instructions so we can find it again:D
Well done Goppers it still feels like I will never make a 10 minute run let alone a 20 minute one so just think how far you have come.
Welcome to all the new visitors . Keep running everyone.

You press the "new thread" button, and off you go :D

I vote Drea does it, though - I like it when the same person stays as thread initiator :)

Right, I just need to choose something reasonable. Not like I have just seen Polar FP80, which looks amazing and costs nearly £300!!!!! Even Garmin Forerunner 305 at ~£150, that you could download training programs from Garmin website onto it (which would be great, as having a goal keeps me going - I am dreading what will happen when I reach the 5km, I'll probably revert to sitting on the sofa all evening again...). It also looks absolutely huge!

Just saw this and thought of you...doesn't look to be *much* more expensive than the 205 when released...Although it may be a good time to get deals on the 205....
