The shoes are great!!!!! I did my Week 4 Run 3 on Saturday. No, it was not easy and my iPod died on my, so I had to run without it. But I did with just extra 30 seconds rest before last run. I am contemplating to repeat week 4 this week and to get a bit more confident, but then I want to go forward as well!!!!

As for the trousers - I have got mine from TKMaxx. They are Adidas and feel great. They are not tight around my legs (I always have trouble buying trousers, as my thighs are quite big... and trousers end up looking as tights!).

We also ended up going for a walk to the beach yesterday, so I had a 'small' workout - we ended walking for nearly two hours on the sand and gravel. Was great though!

Resting day today - back to gym tomorrow!

PepPop I'm always wary of buying shoes online but then I do have crappy knees so need something proper to support my feet :) would be lovely to be able to bargain hunt.

Yep I know what you mean, I've got dodgy knees too but I've worked out that a certain type of Nike ones are great for me and I just buy a newer pair when my old ones start to wear out (can always tell cos my knees start to get sore). Because of this I can safely buy online.

I think you should go for it and do the 5K. I've just realised that the one I was going to do is only a few weeks away - oh well there's always the next one.

Well done Gopppers on completing your 20min run :j

Legs are still a bit sore from my run on Saturday but I'm going to brave the wind/rain when I get home from work today.

My flatmate keeps wanting to go for a run with me but he doesn't follow any plan, he just runs until he is tired. I'd never be able to do that. He doesn't seem to understand and is getting a bit offended! I don't think I'd be comfortable going for a run with anyone to be honest... I'm just not fit enough ;)

    Hi everyone

Well done to everyone for getting back on the horse after injuries, I shamefully haven't done anything for about 2 weeks, after 3-4 days of feeling a bit "off", just completely exhausted all the time, and ending up with palpitations. Went to the doctors last week and got sent for blood tests and an ecg. I'm feeling a bit better now (I think it was probably all down to lack of sleep, and too much caffeine to make up for the lack of sleep) and contemplating getting back into it. I think I will take things easy again this week, but definately go back to aerobics and netball this week, and if BF wants a gym trip I'll go and do a bit of bike and cross trainer. Next week I think I will start back at week 1, I *should* be able to do it fairly easily and I can build back up to the current level, rather than going straight back into 5 minute runs and freaking myself out about them. I've got 18 weeks until my 10k race, I am concentrating solely on that one, with the logic that if I can run 10k then, then 8 weeks later I should be able to run/walk 20k for the great north run.

ginvzt, where did you go to get your shoes? I've been thinking about getting analysed for shoes, and I'm due a bonus next month, so maybe I'll go then.

Drea - just be honest with your flatmate, I've asked my bf to go running with me a couple of times, but it ends up being really rubbish for him becuase he isn't breaking a sweat at my pace. You could let him go with you and he will probably just get bored and not want to go again.

Hopefully I won't disappear off radar again, good luck to everyone for this week

I got my shoes at Sweatshop near Preston (Wrea Green , at Rigby Hall). The service was great and the assistant was friendly and no rush at all.

    Hi Guys,

Is it ok if I join in? Ive been reading your posts and you're all doing fantastically!

I did the Week 1 Run 1 this morning, whilst it was very sunny :) I have a dog, so chose a park where he could run with me off the lead and there's a river where he could have a paddle and drink afterwards. When it got to the last but 2 60 second run, I really thought about just walking the rest of the way, but I didn't and completed today's programme :j

After today, I have realised that I am very unfit - so need to stick to this programme.

Hope to keep up with you guys :D

hi there busiscoming2 . I just purchased one of off of e-bay for a reasonable amount of money. In case this running lark turned out to be another of my fads. I am only a B cup so I guess mine are not too much of a problem. Either that or I am still going too slow. Sorry guess this wasn't much help. Hello everyone.

Do you know what Idiophreak I've often wondered how many of us are male and how many female. No wonder you did not join in the conversation about wobbly bits:D
