Live on £4000 for a year - part 4 (Oct - Dec 2008)

Hello all,
I failed to plough through my todo list over the weekend and didnt have prepared coffees or teas or lunches with me to college. I was really lucky thou as in the morning when I went to coffee machine someone had kindly left 40p there as credit and same happened on the break when I fancied a cup of coco there was 40p waiting for me. So not bad at all.
So this evening is going to be very busy cleaning animals and doing my assignments. I have one due on Wednesday, one on Friday and three worksheets of health (endoparasites, ectoparasites and zoonoses) on Monday . And I am already ready for bed as it is.
Bails I tried to call you. If you fancy a chat just text me and I'll call you back.
I was walking dogs on the field this afternoon and was sliding down very steep muddy hill with two dogs when this herd of cows started to follow me. Both dogs went mad (they were on leads as I had seen the cows) and I was there trying to get to the road before it got dark, sliding in my wellies with couple of barking dogs on leads when I noticed that they were no cows. They did look very friendly and I apologiced for the inconvenience and the trouble and they stopped following me. Which reminds me that I will need a torch and a reflective vest as it is now so dark in the evenings walking the dogs.
So no NSD today but tomorrow should be better as I am working at the farm and can take proper meal with me to warm up there and I am away from all the temptations.
Have a great evening everybody,
Marru"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I won't complain about the fumes Janey if you pass me a glass
Sounds like you had a similar day to me :grouphug:
As for the toilet rolls, it's our cats that destroy ours, especially the Andrex kitten :rotfl:
Good luck with the list Marru (thanks for phoning but I'm just hiding away tonight ).
Do you have any recordings of your mum playing Janey? That would be lovely. I had to sell my piano this weekend, which was such a shame.
In the spirit of cheering ourselves up, I'm having (whoopsied) moules in garlic and white wine butter tonight (I'm a vegetarian).

:grouphug: bails - it seems to be the time of year for crappy days doesn't it?! I hope you feel better soon. Anyone else who's feeling pooey can join in the hug as well.
I had a frugal(ish) spend today. I needed 2 round flat batteries for my bathroom scales, but at £4.50 each I didn't bother getting any. Until today when they were in the 99p store :T (ended up spending £9.90 though  ). I'm a bit aprehensive about weighing myself as I haven't done it in about 4 weeks - since the batteries ran out, and I know the scales will be unkind...
It's my day off tomorrow so I really should make some sort of to do list AND DO IT!!! (I won't hold my breath)

Bails - the only way to get through a crappy day - wine and chocolate!!!!!! Hope tomorrow is better for you.
Popped into Lidl today and got a couple of special offer gammon joints. Have decided that as turkey is so expensive this year, I will do a gammon joint as well for Xmas to pad it out a bit. While paying I spotted some FREE bread - well I had to get some didn't I? Did feel a bit embarrassed though as the man behind me in the queue said in loud voice to his wife:
'Oh look there is that bread they leave out for the old folks'
Bearing in mind he was about 20years older than me, I grabbed a couple a bit furtively and made a run for it!
Then went Xmas shopping. What a waste of time! Everything I wanted they either didn't have or I knew was cheaper online. Trouble is, I like people to be able to return stuff if it's not something they want/can use. Anyone know what the returns policies for Xmas are for places like Amazon? Worried that if I leave it till nearer the time, the stock for what I want will have gone.0 -

:grouphug:to everyone that needs one. Have to say I'm not feeling great either - after months of (fairly) controlled budgeting and sensible eating I've suddenly gone mad, stuffing myself with sweet and fatty food. I now feel sickly, guilty and ashamed of myself.
The binge happened because of constant stress building up and up; I really, really, really don't want to go into work during the next few months. But I just have to hold on because there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Something a bit more cheerful - Costco emailed me some membership info, would anyone like me to post it here? (If I can, and if I'm allowed...?)'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Redglass, don't beat yourself. Just think how well you have done and know that you can do it again. You needed the binge and that is it. I have just got DD to bed and will go and have my supper and I will put my gas fire on and eat right next to it as I am soooo cold. And temperature here doesn't even touch the low ones of the hardy Scots.
Oh - more confessions, I ordered this and just got it in the post today. I can't wait to watch it"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Good evening frunchkins:D , sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts out to everyone feeling down in the dumps or poorly(((:heartpuls ))).
Bails hope you're feeling a bit more energised now.
I was sitting contemplating in my office this afternoon, (which wasn't getting my paperwork done) and it struck me that one of the main advantages to my stockpiling has actually been the time that has been freed up which usually would have been spent shopping each week, added to that is the saving on fuel costs, cutting down on plastic bags, and all the other stuff that is involved in actually visiting a store.Stockpiling has made my life simpler and less stressful.:D
I need to look at other ways of simplifying my lifestyle - any ideas??0 -
Flying visit as I've had an unexpected long day out and relieved to get home.Bails - hopping mad on your behalf: hugs/alcohol/chocolate offered as required.
Redglass - sometimes a woman just need to binge on fat and sugar. A build up of stress needs to explode out someway, and better out than in.
Frugal day out as unexpectedly fed by someone else:j . Would anyone here consider it worth trying teabags that had a best before date of sept 1996? Or pasta Mar 2002?
Gorgeous daughter PV.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
