            I'm very tempted with this...
do I need to buy extra memory? and would I be able to install tomtom software on this (and how much does that cost?)
I was looking at getting a Mio 168 - does anyone know how this compares?0
-
Mio had built in GPS unit which means less cables, I know someone who has an older Medion PDA with GPS and they have no problems, they leave the wired GPS unit in the car and just plug the PDA in when they get in, they also run tomtom on it but I don't know which version.
The medion if I'm not mistaken comes with a 256mb MMC memory card which should hold the original software and any (ahem) tomtom or other you wish to sample.
Cheapest mio 168 I've seen was £149.99 at a staples store, last time I went they had sold out, at that price it didn't come with the mapping software or memory card, memory cards can be purchased pretty cheap these days £12-£15 for 256mb, the problem is the mapping software that can be costly £50+ for legalWelcome, rogerramjet.

Is the Tom Tom software about £150.00 ??0

I know that I am being really thick here, but when it has system requirements does that mean that you ened something else to enable it to work in the car as a sat nav? Or does it just work on it's own? Also, is this also a pocket pc - which you can run other software on or just sat nav?0

the 32 " LCD HD ready TV for £587.05 as well. Check the bargain basement Payneardo Payneardo 0 0

It does work on it's own - but it's better if you have a PC to connect it to, as you can add other software / sync information etc.diamond57 wrote:I know that I am being really thick here, but when it has system requirements does that mean that you ened something else to enable it to work in the car as a sat nav? Yes, it's a Pocket PC - so you can run lots of other software on it.
TomTom Navigator 5 (Western Europe) is £135 at Amazon, and a bit cheaper at QED-uk0

I've got this one and its great. I paid about £250 from Aldi 18 months ago so it looks a bit of a bargain. The only downside is that the maps may not be that up to date now, unless this has updated versions. Like someone said, you can always use other mapping like Tomtom.0

So does this come with everything needed to use as some sort of gps mapping device?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
