i think in fairness 18866 has probably had more discussion than your other 199 providers added together .
think that 18866 was the first of these sorts of operators and certainly i along with massive amounts of other people on this site dived in at the start .
i thought i was raising a perfectly fair and relevant point0 -

can't believe I missed this!!! I always use 18866, it gets paid on the credit card so I never look at the statements, def. didn't get an email about it so for the last 6 wks have been paying over the top (albeit a penny but look after the pennies etc etc), I am now changing back to 1899 which I have been using for mobiles, and looking into 181 oh need to go back a page!! for lower mobile charges.0

18185 are also 4p but they are a lot cheaper for mobiles and 0845/0870
I called Paris at 0.5p a minute too
I'm registered with all 3 providers 18866, 1899 and 18185. If one puts their fees up I simlpy switch to the cheapest. Along with "saynoto0870.com" I make a good saving
Most people I tell about this say they cant be bothered with all the hassle.
I find it very easy

Discount Dial offer 1p p/m to UK mobiles (do not dial country code) by using an access code and no connection fee. They along with Telestunt, offer competitive rates to international numbers too. To call the USA using Telestunt, costs 1p per min using an access code. Whilst Discount Dial also charge 1p per min to U.S. landline or mobile numbers, again by using an access code.
I think we all have to be aware that these companies will alter their rates regularly and it is up to us - the customer, to chop and change if we want to or stick with a company if we're happy with the service and don't mind paying a slightly higher rate.
I'm just amazed at how many of these companies are around and am quite willing to change to a cheaper company as the need arises. Just need to keep an up to date list of who to use and when and under what circumstances. I'm so grateful to this site and the people who share the info around, I've never had such low phone bills :j We just have to stay away from premium rate numbers/quiz t.v. now, thanks to horrific BT bill  Thankfully, I'm not the main culprit, my dad is!!vinylmusic wrote:18185 are also 4p but they are a lot cheaper for mobiles and 0845/0870
