Turns out Polo gears are a bit of an "issue"...

    http://www.carsurvey.org/viewmorecomments_review_89521_2.html

Completely irrelevant. Not one of those problems on any of the pages (and I have just sat and read through them all) are even similar to the problem we have had.

Try and discredit me all you like, it's just not working.

The insurance HAVE taken it on (with legal cover) We HAVE NOT misled them in any way shape or form and after a quick call to check, regardless of the outcome we WILL NOT be landed with a hefty bill as we are paying for legal cover which covers this.

Can we get back to the original point please which was that we are NOT asking for compensation, we want to know what the hell happened that we left a perfectly working and well looked after car with them and when we came back it was essentially a write off - with the company who were looking after it 'apparently' having no idea how that happened. Their first statement to me was 'it was like that when we got into it' WAS IT HELL! We have been repeatedly ignored and lied to. To date we have received one call back (stating systems were down so they were unable to help) and a standard letter stating they have looked into the matter and do not have any reason to believe the damage was caused on their property!!! Really, so we drove 100 miles along the motorway with it broken, then it worked whilst the guy drove it past me then broke again did it???

Regardless of whether it was mechanical failiure or down to their negligence or misuse I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WHILST THE CAR WAS IN THEIR 'CARE' Is that unreasonable?????? Excuse me for not accepting any of this bull sh*t

"at his garage they are changing 3 or 4 gearboxes a month!!"

You don't have a Polo with gearbox problems?

Yes, yes they do. BUT .........

Tell me then oh wise a$$hole - why did they need to lie 3 times and avoid contact with us and not even fill in a report or anything eh??

And why do I need to repeat myself over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over to make you listen to the relevant bits rather than you speculating (are you getting it yet?)

You know the meaning of the word troll?? I'm gonna use the ignore function now. Enjoy your sad pathetic existance. :D

Nope, not the gearbox internals (as all the other problems on that site were) it's a problem with the gearbox casing - if you don't know the difference, please don't give your (very clearly) uneducated, unwelcome, unrequested, GUESSES. How about reading and understanding what i'm saying before jumping in and making very wrong assumptions? (bless you :rotfl: )

What if the car jockey parked your car as the fault developed?

If he returned your keys back to the office and said nothing, how can your prove the fault is laid at there door?

I'm on your side here, just something you need to be able to answer.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

That would be diagnosed as a wear and tear fault, so there would be no way of proving anything against the parking company IMHO. If the report comes back with a diagnosis of failure due to some kind of severe abuse (either impact or driving related) then the blame can logically lie nowhere else except the parking company.

OK, thanks for clearing that up, I was curious that's all ;)

Good point. They put a cardboard tag on the keys tho and once we got back to the car and realised it wouldn't start, we noticed someone had written on the back of the tag 'no gears' so they knew.
