    What??????

You live in a city where there will be vets very few miles but it cost you £70 by taxi?

Now your just being silly. Has this anything to do with the questions i've asked? It has been 3 visits without a car actually. I'm not in the habit of lying, just stating the facts

keep at them and anytime you leave your car again even at a garage take your millage on your mobile phone I always do this and even tell them ive done it.. that way the only millage that should be added is the test drive etc

  • Sexk11en,

Have you done what I told you? Sent the car to a main dealer for them to check? Costly, but it will put your mind to rest. Expect to pay between £1000 to £1500 pounds but DONT WORRY because if your convinced it was the parking companies fault you will GET IT BACK with COMPENSATION.

Let us know soon when youve booked the car in and how much the cost will be.

    Make sure you do it!

I get the feeling theres some sarcasm in ther but I could be wrong. Our insurance company are collecting the car to have it looked at properly and try and establish how the damage was caused and if it is repairable or not so that will cost us nothing and give us the answers we need.

Because it's extra money we've had to pay out when we wouldn't if the car hadn't been damaged.

Like I said, had they followed a decent level of customer service from the beginning, then we would have been a lot calmer but the way they have treated us is appalling and leads me to believe this wasn't an accident.

Ok, OH has corrected me a bit here on technical terms as he's an engineer!

It's definately possible that the part could have fatigued over time, knowing the age of the car

So if it could have gone anyway you still would have had to make those expenses.

timtims, I think you're missing the whole point here.

Had the company followed the usual expected routine of writing a report detailing the incident, which would then have been handed to the OP on arrival with apologies and offers of helping them call a tow truck/their insurance, then it would have been accepted that the clutch went on an old car, end of story.

It's the fact that they lied, falsely claim it was like that when they got it, AND reset the milage that makes the whole thing seem underhand and dodgy, and certainly implies that instead of clutch going just because it was an old car (which the OP would have no doubt accepted), it has potentially been broken through mis-use by this company, in which case they WOULD be to blame.

It needs to be proved though, although you do already have proof that something dodgy went on.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You don't know that though. What if the member of staff didn't tell them it broke because he/she thought it would directly get them in trouble?

Thats what I recons happend. Thats why the company wouldn't then have known. That still means it's quite possible it broke with no fault of their own.

With a bit of luck, if they have been using it whilst you were away, they'll have been careless enough to get a speeding ticket which will prove that the car was used by someone else.
It aint over til I've done singing....
