@diable - nice pic
Looks like a new fangled box compared with what we had although I suspect still of the same era.
I didn't get anything done in the last couple of days apart from cleaning and clearing stuff up as MIL was coming over so we had to move a bed downstairs. LLC had his jags yesterday and it didn't go down well at all. He slept for about 4 hours (in his little frog position) on OH and then was happier when he woke up.
OH is going to arrange carpet fitting for next week so its going to be a productive weekend, whether I like it or not
My folks are up too which will help for the most part although I'm sure we'll probably have to go out for a meal or some other distraction from DIY0 -

MIL coming you should have moved the bed to the DIY car park a mile down the road............. ;o))))
I also found a cable that was twin and earth and lead lol0 -
Cant do that - she's got my tiling to do in the showerroom first
OH abhs booked the carpet for mopnday afternoon so I've got this weekend to get the skirting boards on and strip as much of the woodwork as I can. Aslo need to tidy up the woodwork around the window and re-seal round the frame. All stuff defnintely to get done before the carpet goes down. Although being realistic I'll probably get the skirting boards on and nothing else0 -

:rotfl: Very good
We had a productive weekend - my folks were up which was great for getting things done. Got the skirting boards on in the dining room and also the remaining bits in the sitting room too. Had to fill a few more bits in the dining room though so will need to paint these afterwards. Also sanded down the window frame as it was a mess from the plastering, painting and general old age - will need to varnish this at some point. Got a new curtain rail up in the dining room too and then cleared everything out and cleaned ready for the carpet to be fitted today.
Also got the niw light up in the bathroom and the sitting room too which is great as I got to throw out the horrendous chandelier that was there from when we bought the house.
Yesterday we spent a little time in the garden putting back up a plant that had blown over at Christmas and cut it back at the same time. Got the brown bin filled to the top so hopefully they'll start collecting it soon as I've still got the bits of next doors hedge to get rid of from when we build the shed0 -

From http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=41386210&postcount=14Below is my rather large DIY bathroom (well shower room) photo album to pick your way through! First started it in summer 2008... spring 2009 was plastered, white painted and shower went in before the basin went in and then the toilet was swapped. Didn't really do much since then with wedding in autumn 2009. Most of 2010 i spent on my shed project in the garden and also on hall decoration (not quite finished yet!) but found time to paint the bathroom units and not much more. Our first baby is due to arrive end of March which gave me a new incentive to get back to bathroom and finish it off in the last week or two (emulsion walls with dulux natural hessian). Just needs flooring down now and the door needs a coat of paint. Bear in mind we've been using the bathroom fully since spring 2009 and it's our only bathroom facilities so had to be kept operational throughout!
Total cost less than £3k including plastering costs. My Dad helped with getting the shower tray and shower enclosure in and cut-up the panels for the units and we built vanity unit together. Dad also helped with the boxing in of the pipework and replumbing hall radiator where old bathroom radiator teed off from and hung the bathroom door. All the rest was just me and i have muscular dystrophy so my muscle strength and mobility isn't great and i can't really do more than one day in a row of work on it. Still hopefully some inspiration for others of what can be done with no previous plumbing experience (no leaks i'll add!!). Bit embarassed it's taken so long but very satisfying looking back at the effort gone into it and the skills i've picked up and the knowledge gained.0 -

Looks good Andy. I like the colour of the emulsion. On my screen it looks very similar to our kitchen/sun room colour so obviously has my approval.

It's probably a bit more pinky/brown than has come out in some of the photos (the photo looking towards the door is nearest to the true colour as had light behind me http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l332/andrew-b-diy/Bathroom/IMG_0705.jpg). Thinking maybe a red/claret colour for floor (carpet tiles) and roller blind to add a bit of extra colour..it's either that or more neutral beiges. Interesting though how it's completely changed the feel of the room going from white to natural hessian. It is a bit darker obviously but feels warmer/cosier and less clinical.
Will post the hall pictures in a week or three once all the doors have been painted. There's been loads of de-cluttering going on everywhere in the bungalow so whole place looks different/tidier.
On baby front Mrs B is doing ok considering but on blood pressure pills (as well as insulin and metformin for the gestational diabetes) which we want to get her off (or change) as she can't breastfeed when on them (something they never told her)....baby is all normal size from the scans and head down. So don't think it's going to be that much longer. Currently on week 35 so not long to go.
TomsMom, hows TomsDad doing now?0 -
A bit of contrast colour sounds good Andy. We kept ours neutral, actually we haven't put any window dressings up at all as we're not overloooked so even with the light on at night it doesn't matter. I considered a contrast colour for the blind in the kitchen but ended up with a brown suede effect one but it goes very well.
I expect you and Mrs Andy are getting really excited now, I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. Hope everything goes alright with the blood pressure and gestational diabetes. Bet she can't wait to lose the bump and feel "normal" again.
TD is doing OK, thanks for asking, Drs say the radiotherapy went to plan and don't want to see him for a few weeks, but he is frustrated that it is taking so long for him to get over the effects. It really knocked him about but Drs say he will get there, just be patient!
I'm going to come back with a question about flooring soon, just want to sort out a couple of pictures to explain what I'm on about, so I'll be picking brains and asking for opinions/advice. Been a while since I've actually had anything "housey" to discuss :rotfl: .0
