The problem is magneto, you are asking questions that have been asked many times before, and the answers are easily found using a search.
For every day you don't put the money away in a good account you are losing money, stop procrastinating and save it somewhere with a good rate.
Really you need to read in depth, then decide. You are saving and not investing, therefore up to 35K it is risk free, as it's protected.
You are protected with virtually all modern banks, to 35K with the FSCS scheme, reading the links in the Banking and Saving orange tab at the top of this website will give you plenty of information.
10K takes us all a while to earn and save, so everyone is in a similar situation, which is why we read and make a decision.
All the information you seek is available on this website and forum.0 -
Moggles, when you say "other internet savings providers" which other banks do you have in mind?
In addition to my bank, I've used five other internet savings providers.
In terms of customer service, Icesave and KE are in a class of their own, IMO. ICICI was dire. The other four - Bradford & Bingley, Cahoot, Egg, and ING fall somewhere in between.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
I use both KE and icesave and both are excellent in terms of customer service never had a problem.0

Ok Guys, thanks to all that have replied
You have talked about both banks have good customer services, but now, let us look at their products
Which of the two banks has the best products? Icesave or Kaupthing
Please give your reason.
to Isofa - please do be flustrated with me. Not everybody is has rich as you. we poor people don't take risk with our money. we are very careful when it comes to money.0 -
You takes your pick from the interest rates offered.
The only significant difference is KE don't (currently) offer joint accounts....0 -

Firstly I'm not rich - but I am researched and able to make informed decisions.
Most of your questions are going around in circles, which is why you aren't getting many replies, because the answers are already here.
Secondly saving 10K virtually anywhere is RISK FREE. It is saving not investing.
I wouldn't call someone with 10K in cash to save "poor" either.
You are a procrastinator, and every day you do this, you money is devaluing due to inflation.
I'm not voting or commenting on these accounts here any more. You can read my and many others' opinions on the thousands of posts made on these forums over the past 12 months. They are simple savings accounts, there is nothing else to note about them - they are not investment products.0 -
thanks for all your help, Your advice have been very useful
Genny, i am not a troll, the reason i was asking more questions was that i was hoping more people will give their opinions, so i will be able to make a better decision.
I have now made up my mind now
But if anyone else have any other information i will alway be pleased to hear it0 -
I've got accounts with both, they are both fine
I think you would be better off going out and spending it, sticking it in a savings account and forgetting it seems too difficult.0 -
You might be right CHR15
but i must be strong. I must resist the temptation. lol0
