Kaupthing Edge VS Icesave – which is the best savings account?

Weekly with my KE account, no issues, always able to log in first time.
The people having login problems may have missed the first capital on all memorable words, or the date in the wrong order.0 -
Ok, I have a KE account. I check my account few times a week, even though nothing is changing there. Sometimes few times a day as I like to see that we have money in the savings!!!! I don't have any problem with them, they are great. Sometimes you have trouble logging in on the 1st of the month in the morning as that is when all the customers want to see how much interest they got, but if you leave till after lunch, never had a problem logging in. I like it so much, we are thinking of opening a second one in my OH name.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

I have had the occasional situation where I have not been able to log in to the online account (for both banks, mildly more for KE than icesave). Generally, I have waited for an hour or two and the problem has been fixed.
I log in to each aboout 6 times a month. Based on my experience and the postings on this board, I would estimate web-site/login downtime at much less than 5%. That's fine for me.0 -
If you want easy access, Icesave and Kaupthing Edge stand out from the rest. I've had savings a/cs with both almost since launch and carry out transactions once or twice a month. Customer service has been excellent. I only wish I could say the same about some other internet savings providers I've used.
With Icesave, money moved in from your linked a/c is collected by direct debit, with KE by BACS transfer. In both cases, withdrawals to your linked a/c are made by BACS transfer.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

Has anyone heard anything about the risk of either one of these two banks going burst?
I know my £10,000 is protected by FSA but a wise man once told me that prevention is better than cure.0 -
There are dozens of threads discussing that point. Have a read through the forums. "Are my savings safe" is a good place to start, also any thread with the name of either bank in the title usually drifts off that way too.0

get your 10k in either bank and stop worrying. If its an investment, (its really just saving) why worry about access ?Mortgage free
