I was told that a supervisor would call me back within an hour. I received a call from the supervisor and again complained about the 10p charge. He read out the terms and conditions and said that Orange reserves the right to change prices, etc.. I told him that I know other people who have been given the freephone bundle and that I would also like this. He said that people that have been given the freephone bundle were done so, depending on their circumstances and that they should not be advertising this fact. He also said that he would be surprised if the people I know who had been given the freephone bundle were on Everyday 50 contact. Can anyone confirm that they have been given the freephone bundle on everyday 50?
He said that he had looked at my bill and noticed that I use 0800 numbers for calling cards and that is what they are trying to stop. After arguing for another 5 minutes he advised me to call back between 9-5 and speak to the customer retentions department.
If they do give me the freephone bundle will it last for 12 months or will it last until I upgrade my phone. My upgrade date is 4th December 2005. What should I do?
I am on Everyday 50 and have the freephone bundle. I also use it for calling cards (18866, 1899 etc) so must be one of their worst customers. I have the bundle for 12 months. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Good morning: We are on the Orange Everytime 200 tariff and have been given the Freephone noncalling card bundle as of today. OH called Orange in early November...CS rep. denied existence but OH pushed citing breach of contract and seems to have won the day!
Good luck to all..be very persistent.Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
Persistance is key. As far as I know every tarif that COULD call freephone free previously can have the bundle applied.
Mention breach of contract as they are inceasing their charges which will result in your bill being higher as per 4.3.1.
As for the Select 500 its a great tarif im on it. £25 a month inc vat 500 cross network anytime minutes with 30 text. My bills have come down from £70 to £30. I use 1899/18866 to ring landlines and for after my free minutes have run out.
I don't particulary call any other freephones numbers apart from 1899/18866 and they didn't say anything to me!0 -
Hi,
I'm on Everyday 50 and have had the Freephone bundle added to my account but today when I tried to call my override number (which is with Telco/OneTel) I was informed that the number had changed and I was given an 0207 number which is obviously not freephone.
I called OneTel and was told that because Orange now charge for freephone numbers this was the only number they could give me even though I have a freephone bundle on my account. Apparently Orange provide them with the numbers they can use.
I think this means my happy relationship with OneTel as my mobile overrider is now over but are there any other companies who's freephone numbers are still working?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Yes they do at the moment, but Onetel have just decided to abandon their Freephone overide service and replace it with 0207 access due to the fact that calls would cost 10p a minute more, not realising that some people would still have freephone bundles..
Depending on the destination called they are not the cheapest way of calling, using freephone access numbers anyway.
If you have inclusive minutes and you wish to call 0800 numbers, and you dont get them for free on Orange. You can use the little known access number 0200 222 0700,and then dial your 0800 number!0 -

Doe anyone know whether they 0845/0870 numbers are going to be taken out of the inclusive minutes? If so, it seems I need to look for a new contract. Any recommendations?
0845/0870 are not affected. As to Freephone numbers...don't take no for an answer.0 -

What i would do is wait till the 4th and upgrade. Are you staying on everyday 50? If not try and get a good retention deal eg Select 500. (or Oranges new equivelent) and a shiny new phone. Don't mention ANYTHING about the freephone calling card to the advisor.
Then once you've recieved the new phone, call up and do the Freephone Calling card pitch. Explaining youv'e only just realised you are now being charged. (don't think they will have made notes from your previous call)
Whichever way there are people being offered for 12 months from now so I can't see any problems you'd have.
