Just wanted to say well done on the easing off for a month plan Hypno, once you manage to get your living space clutter free its so easy to manage it will make the world of difference on a day to day basis.
Hope this months gives you a change to re-energise, re-group and be ready for action to get rid of that debt:TBut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

ooh happy new diary.
I completely see where you're coming from - although I'm lucky enough not to be in debt (apart from mortgage and student loans) I've been trying very hard with selling stuff, mystery shopping etc and as my jobs been really busy and a group I help run has been busy too it all feels a bit much, hence me freecycling stuff like I talked about the other night, calming down the number of mystery shops over the next couple of weeks and downgrading to £5 a day again for October as I know work will be so busy I won't have much chance for money making - it's all about being realistic I think.
Good luck :TInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98

Hi hypno congrats on the new thread and your decision to slow things down a bit. I feel like when it comes to housework I only have enough time to get the basics done and not the bigger de-cluttering jobs etc. I always say that I would be able to concentrate/ get more done/ relax more if my house was better so I have now decided that in each of my holidays (I am studying for a degree) when I have a bit more time I am going to do a deep clean/tidy so that I can keep on top of things better. Would something like that work for you? I am starting this week and am going to have my favourite music on and also have some of my favourite foods in so that I can try to (almost!) make it a good thing with treat based rewards!0

hi
wow think this will be the hardest challenge yet!!
been trying to organise myself for the last few yrs ,,,biggest problem is you/me always put others first and leave yourself to the last,,,,i think that's the hardest bit to break.
once you put yourself first ,then you can decide what to do with the free time.... if you don't do that, then their wont be any me/free time to organise!!!!!!!!!!
wishing you well
shaun
ps
elvin is a little better and getting a bit more sleep

shaun I am glad to read that things are a little better in your house now.
I am really tired this morning, but grabbed "first shower" to try and wake me up! I am not sure yet whether it has had any effect........time will tellSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi Hypno = well done on the decisions you've made - I could see you self combusting otherwise. Don/t try to tackle every room at once - concentrate on one at a time properly - it worls wonders.
have a good day - I'm running late so have to go,
BTW is Pania not around at moment?0 -

Good for you, a change in priorities is good for the soul. My 14 year old recently said to me that I was the glue in the family, bless him.
I guess if that glue starts to weaken under pressure it all falls apart, so you should definetly reapply some loctite (other brands are available lol).DC.
