Fab result - hope it's decent stuff. If it was me, being an awkward booga, I'd make a complaint to Egg: say your OH is a recovering alcoholic, and you came home to find him plastered. Or you came home to find your teenage kids in need of a stomach pump. Or that you're of some religion that finds alcohol offensive. Or all three! You never know...you might get a second apology containing chocolate!
Poor littlest Hypnite - is he getting anything out of the rest of the family's Amazon windfalls? Or is he getting a bottle of wine?:D0 -

Sounds like a good day for all!
Been a very busy bee these past couple of days.
Right on the job front, I didn't get it but I also didn't not get it! The job in the UK has been put on hold because the head office in Canada are going through their own mini credit crunch and the HR director there has two members of staff that he doesn't want to make redundant! So he's told the recruitment manager here to use them for recruitment administration (which would've been my job!) The fact the head office is 5 1/2 hours behind and so it won't work means that in 2 months, the job may become active again and then I may find out!
I'm not optimistic! :rotfl: NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!!!
Got my voucher! Thanks to various other places and my birthday vouchers, I'm now up to £145 waiting to be spent! Can't wati to do that! I think I might buy that PS3...
Then... Got a massive refund off of Nationwide, I've had MASSIVE and I mean massive issues with them with regards to charges going out thanks to their incompetence of not updating records so I get a letter through today after a year of complaining and losing hope with them saying they've refunded all charges from October 2007 onwards so now I've got a nice little sum of money! Something in the region of £150 which, in true MSE style, will be going on my credit card, then closing the account. All thanks to me complaining to the Financial Ombudsman during that really dark period at the end of October! :j :j :j
So yeah, been a good day! That and payday tomorrow (and rent going out) so I should be able to make my signature look a whole lot happier! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -
Yay! Another one having a good day!
Sorry about the job, but like you said, at least you didn't NOT get it!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Exactly, I'm not worried as this NHS job is settling down now and whilst I would LOVE to go into the financial services and do my thing, I think I will need to bide my time, hit up my debt a bit and hit it all again in January.
In terms of life's stresses, that Nationwide one is a BIGGY. So now it's a matter of diverting that stress into fun and creating a positive mantra into the new year. I know my luck will change, I can feel it this time. I just hope the tingling feeling isn't a stroke! Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
