Night piggin - I am off too, armed with my hot water bottle.....

Morning!
I think today marks the day in the month that I feel most skint - the day I realise that there is nothing left in the bank.....! OH gets his second job pay on 20th, so next Thursday, and I get paid next Friday, but until then it is storecupboard meals and the minimum of anything else.
Ah well - at least I get further through the month than I used to!!
I am still waiting to be paid for my teaching work that I did in October - I may have to give them a call and find out when that is likely to arrive......as it is almost £200 but I know they are notoriously slow in paying. Quidco also have over £200 in enquiries, half of which has been agreed, but which is no closer to reaching me.......so frustrating when you know there is money out there to come, but you just can't reach out and touch it!
Anyway, moving on.........nothing more to report! Should be going for a run this evening when DS is at karate.
Hope you all have a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Morning Hypno,
Have a good day too, hope that you're not aching as much this morning.

Ouch, that does sound harsh - it'd be nice to get a big fat compensation payment from Egg, wouldn't it ... I wonder how fast they do stuff like that?
Hope the aches aren't as bad this morning, and bubbles are helping ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks you two - no the aches aren't soo bad today. I'm just weary I guess....could do with a day off!
The money situation is my own doing to a certain extent anyway, so I mustn't grumble - I am spending the "extra" income we get on overpayments, and this month I have bought concert tickets etc too.
I just wish that we could get through the month comfortably on our "normal" salaries - it still seems to work on paper, yet not *quite* in reality! Still, as I say, it is a whole lot closer to balancing than it was this time last year!
KC, if I DO get compensation from Egg it certainly won't be big or fat! And it will probably be very very slow coming! I am not counting on that at all!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hi Hypno - have a steady day today otherwise you will completely burn out. Hope Egg sorts out quickly.
Am in middle of writing list for today - wil see how much i manage to do !!!!!!!!!!!
Have a good one0 -
It does sound more balanced - and tho egg loan is a whopper, the repayment time is very short, isn't it? Which is a *good* thing. Just looking at your sig above the little box I'm typing in - wow, £23367.21 repaid this year, and the year still has a way to go ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I have three days off next week (which I have taken off in order to catch up with the housework - how sad is that!) so if I can get through the next few days I will be fine!
KC, I don't think I will be paying off much more this year - I was hoping to get to £25k paid off, but I have to send £950 out in the next 3 weeks to pay for DS training, which sort of puts paid to my previous moneysaving plans! I am having to raid the money that I had put away for our summer holiday next year - which in turn means I have to start again in saving for that.....robbing Peter to pay Paul, not a game I enjoy paying.
I am still pretty pleased with what we HAVE achieved this year though! Even if that is all I manage to do again next year I will be within touching distance of being debt free, so I will be very happy with that. And who knows, if the markets sort themselves out (yeah right) we might even get a bonus at work in the summer - but with the worst markets in my career, I certainly am not counting on that one :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I'm staying with the "fine" bit - we all like living in a calm, spacious place!KC, I don't think I will be paying off much more this year - I was hoping to get to £25k paid off, but I have to send £950 out in the next 3 weeks to pay for DS training, which sort of puts paid to my previous moneysaving plans!Even if that is all I manage to do again next year I will be within touching distance of being debt free
Now that *is* exciting! :j :j :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
OK, reality check, I got to work to find that the father of one of the girls who works here has drowned while on holiday.
