Thanks YL! Hope you are ok - not seen you around for a bit?

I had a very long conversation with Egg today - seems they stopped my credit card as a reaction to my complaint last week.....I have managed to escalate said complaint to someone who has actually had the decency to read the file and has confirmed that he will be pulling the tapes of the conversations I had last week.

How much good it will do, is yet to be seen, but I did feel that he was genuinely horrified at what he was reading! And he did mention that he would look into some form of compensation for me as this was "an extraordinary case" so they do, at least, seem to be taking it seriously. I am sure any compensation won't amount to much, but it really is the principle of the matter that is most important - why should I be treated like that when all I am doing is paying off my loan in accordance with the terms and conditions!!

Anyway, rant over, I will update if and when progress or otherwise is made!

As for the running - my legs ache!! I will have to drag myself round the block slowly this evening to try and loosen the muscles a bit.......or maybe I will stay in the dry and warm :o

These banks really are strange. I had a call from Sainsbury's Bank today, I have a loan with them at 6.5%. The man asked if I would like a new loan to pay this off, with three month's payment holiday, resuming payments in February at 8.5%. Now why on earth would I want that?

  • Hi Hypno,

Good on you for escalating your complaint and at last talking to someone over there that appears to know his job; fingers crossed you'll get a decent apology and compensation to match (possibly paying the loan off for you would be a good one :rotfl: )

Having looked out the window most of today I would strongly advise sitting in the warmth with a nice cup of coffee.

Hi Hypno - I'm ok thanks - work's really busy atm (everyone's applying to University!) and I've not had much time for MSE . I have been keeping a quick eye on things. Hope you get things sorted with Egg soon.
