all my debts are on fixed rates, so interest rate movements don't affect me - but it DOES make my 24.9% loan even more unattractive, and will therefore act as more of an incentive to get rid of it!!

Is that the interest rate on the egg loan? mine is on 14.01% i had an egg credit card and i think the interest rate ended up at 26% before i finally got it changed to a loan. its so frustrating that you cant transfer loans onto 0% credit cards. I took my 2 loans as i couldnt get accecpted for any thing else at the time. I was paying £220 for the egg card a month and the total reduction was around £6 a month. so i guess that i cant really complain about the loan. i will definatly celebrate when it is gone now. When would your loan end if you dont make any more over payments? mine would be july 2010

My egg loan is only at 3.86% - they gave me a huge reduction in my APR when they incorrectly sent my account to Capquest for almost a year.....it was their way of compensating me which was very welcome! I do, however, still want rid of it as soon as possible.

If I don't overpay, it will be gone in August 2011 - I am hoping to have it gone by the summer.........:D

Needless to say, today I had further calls from Egg informing me that my account was in arrears. I was not impressed, and have made a further complaint - there have been times when I was "low" that this type of behaviour could have pushed me over the edge.

In other news - I got home to a letter saying that an old employer (several years back) overpaid National Insurance on my behalf so they have sent me a cheque for £206 :D That'll be going into the holiday fund I think for next year.

(or I might just pay it to Egg to get a step closer to being rid of them  )
