Rheumatoid arthritis! when it went (finally) it was suggested that it had been stress triggered. It seems to run in the family - my mum suffered for a while after a stressful time and my neice had something like it in her teens...I was given the full 'worst case scenario' possible prognosis - wheelchair by 40 at 23!!!!
Pshaw to that said I!
Phew - the relief - I just read the thread latest first and thought Holly ... doesn't bear thinking about what I thought - what a relief!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

If you can find where the starter motor is then just hit it on the side - not too hard - it just needs a jolt to get it going again - but it may be worth thinking about looking for a new starter motor its usually a sign that its on the way out:eek:

toots xx
It's not the kitchen, just the utility room... :rotfl: I did the kitchen last year and have now recovered enough (yes, I had the doorway blocked up, a new doorway made, the floor up and the ceiling down, moved the gas meter and most of the plumbing...:o ) and saved enough to redo the utility room. It shouldn't take too long, and I have no intention of being anywhere near the place while it is being done. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to seal up the kitchen door, close the windows and no dust will come into the house! The plan is to be able to use the kitchen for cooking and eating and the utility room (which is also getting a new, bigger window  ) for laundry, washing up and messy stuff.
Valli - anti-inflammatory diet - it seems to be recommended for most things nowadays. Anything inflammatory/autoimmune (I assume Toots has been lectured on this too!). Lots of veg (preferably seasonal, local), no refined foods, no acidic foods (no cooked tomatoes which is a bit of an issue for me as I LOVE them), no fizzy drinks, cigarettes, pretty much no sugar (like anyone does that for more than 3 weeks
). They do say that as its a lifestyle change that you have to be realistic - I refuse to give up the cooked toms & grapefruit juice for starters, and you don't want to make a fuss when your out (unless you feel like it
). Reduced dairy (for thyroid they say none, IBD less than a pint of milk, so it varies). So best bet is spinach & tofu (which is what I ate tonight, with aubergine, courgette, peppers and tomato after my lovely fresh sweetcorn with melted butter). Spinach appears to be in season all year round! 0 -
No don't say that this stupid car has cost me a fortune already:mad: .0

You can swap your car with mine if you want hollyH.;)
Lovely little Escort. Been to the moon and back 118k.
It has a sunroof - that doesn't open.
Driver's side window has to be opened with the passengers side switch:rolleyes:
And when you've opened it.sometimes it doesn't like to go up again:rolleyes:
There's a dent in the boot that lets the rain in:rolleyes:
Which in turn makes the boot interior a bit hairy:eek: on occasion and definetley(sp?) very smelly:rolleyes:
The exhaust is a fence pole:rolleyes: Well the back 2 sections anyway;)
The steering clicks like hell when you go round a corner:rolleyes: Gets you noticed though - maybe Valli would like to drive past a few fire stations in it;)
5 garages have looked at 'the click'. All scratched their heads and said 'it's just one of those annoying noises':rolleyes:
Umm....what else.... oh yeah....... gearbox is on the way out and a rather vocal clutch.
But........she starts first time every time. Even though I've run out of oil, yes oil, on several occasions. And, it has a fab CD stereo in it.
So do you fancy a swap then?0 -
I'm glad I'm all better then - though I did notice, while ill, that citrus and tomatoes used to irritate me no end...
B***** I'll have to give up the Players No. 6 then...
I've had 'em in stock for a while!
They cost me 2 and 6!!! written like this 2/6
No I don't smoke really but I like the nostalgia kick! And I can convert to pre decimal currency (shillings etc) with ease. So that would've been 12and a half pDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
