Just sat down to work out really what I spent and it turns out I have 3 NSD not 2 like I first thought. Woopee!

I only count unnecessary things as official "spending". If I've had to buy food or petrol they don't count to me because it's things I can't NOT buy (unless it's a bottle of pop or a bar of chocolate in which case it's an unnecessary spend).0

Three NDS for me so far, just another 10 to go this month. So excited as I am doing so well with my spending, I feel like a completely new person. Determined to work out a proper DF date and set a goal to make it quicker.
Thanks everyone for all your support so far.MAY NSD's

Are there any hard fast rules for the NSD? For example does it only cover non essential spending like the odd bar of chocolate or a magazine? Just want to check before I get it really wrong and look better than I'm being.'Proud to be dealing with my debts'20p savers= £158.00 :T DFW Nerd #1061Nectar points 3514 Boots Ad Card £21.3031/01/10 Loan 1 = £6058, Loan 2 = £8896, Caravan Loan = £12980, HSBC CC = £0 :j Car = £0 :j, Loan 3 = £2490, Overdraft = £0 :j0

 You set your own rules honeybun.
I would imagine that most of us don't count direct debits and stuff like that, but anything I get my card or cash out for counts for me.
I don't count spends by my hubby or kids - but I don't get them to buy things in order to circumvent the system either cos that would just be cheating!
But if it just happens naturally that they buy something for all of us with no imput from me, then I'm just happy about it and grateful for it!
Was there a situation in particular you were unsure about?

:hello: Hi Jacks xxx
There wasn't anything I was particular unsure about. I've been reading a lot of the older posts (which took some time) and just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
I think I will class it as anything that I wouldn't really need to buy. So petrol is essential for me espcially for work so I won't be counting that. But anything like buying for lunch or a magazine that I could live without I will count.
Thanks again:j'Proud to be dealing with my debts'20p savers= £158.00 :T DFW Nerd #1061Nectar points 3514 Boots Ad Card £21.3031/01/10 Loan 1 = £6058, Loan 2 = £8896, Caravan Loan = £12980, HSBC CC = £0 :j Car = £0 :j, Loan 3 = £2490, Overdraft = £0 :j0 -
Hey everyone,
I'm a bit scared that today is my first NSD of the month so I still have another 14 to achieve . will just have to always think ahead, in fact I've already decided to not spend any money on mondays, wednesdays, thursdays or sundays just to achieve this. It just means a bit of forward planning & that's what I love about this challenge because I'm hoping that mindset will filter through to my debt busting too ...

That's how I do it Briggsy. It would be so boring for everyone to read about my direct debits and the like! I prefer to keep track of the non-budgeted spends.
I actually managed a zero spend today, will add it to my total now.

Hi all,
I think I can safely declare today a NSD. I haven't been out at all (not so good, but have felt bit poorly) and not spent a penny. Sig updated. This is getting slightly addictive and I'm already planning to have Monday and Wednesday as NSDs. I think if I keep planning ahead, I might manage more than 10 NSDs this month. But better not get ahead of myself, there's still a long way to go...DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
