Wirm I had the same problem with msn 7.5 yesterday and I installed Trillion (I'll look for the link now).

It can read msn and uses your contacts so they are all there as normal, it can also read AIM and other messaging.

The link is Snapfiles.com which was recommended by sra yesterday as downloads are all tested for security before going on the site.

I just downloaded it and could use it straight away for msn contacts even though msn wasn't signed in. You just need your hotmail or msn address and password.

    START | RUN | regsvr32 softpub.dll

It worked for me when i had this problem with MSN 7.5

I get this, but only at peak times. Perhaps Microsoft need to improve their servers so they can take more load. I used to get a problem where it would sign me out as I sent a message to a contact. This seems to have corrected itself now.

try yahoo messenger then or AIM :D
Don't go down this route, I don't think Yahoo Messenger or AOL Instant Messenger is as good as MSN Messenger. :)
  • AIM is going to be combining with MSN Messenger son, and you'll be able to contact AOL IM Friends using MSN Messenger and Vise Versa.

aim, msn, yahoo, icq, google talk, skype

btw the next version of vbulletin has a space for you to fill in your skype id - just incase you can't resist broadcasting your details to the world :rotfl:
