Oh..
Well must be something else then. I BETA tested MSN Messenger 7.0 and 7.5, and as a Security feature, it is meant to disconnect you (IE. If you leave yourself signed on elsewhere by accident, logging on somewhere else will simply log you off at that other location.)
Anyhow Martin, has it worked?0 -
            Hi Martin,
A quick Google produced this link - containing a fix direct from the hallowed echelons of Microsoft. Might be worth a look.

I have the same problem as Martin!

What about a complete uninstall of Messy and the re-install....0

Sorry if this is not helpful - I don't have any specific advice, but with any computer problem I ask these questions in a sometimes depressingly futile attempt to narrow down the problem:
Is it me? (can others log in on the same machine)
Is it more general? (do other programmes have problems with access)
Is it my computer (can you try another one / laptop on the same network)
Have I changed anything or upgraded (including MSN?)
Have I added something new?
Has my firewall (hardware or software) updated or changed?
Is it my network (do you have a spare router).
Is my ISP doing anything differently?
They're sort of in an order ... i.e. If you find that someone else can log on to your machine at home then chances are it's something account related.
Might not be hugely helpful, but usually this helps narrow down the problem, and either a solution or, more often, a work-around, emerges from the gloom that is everyday computer (one day we'll get it right).0 -
Tried everything suggested above.... still not logged in

Just wondered have you rebooted the computer after you have made the changes to the settings and then tried.
