Bojangles, does your meter also show how many units of electric you have used. It really does sound as though something is is really using a lot of power and it may show if your meter is deducting money for a debt that should not be there.
Do you have a garage or outbuildings..is something switched on there that you are not aware of.
I did send you a PM, let me know if you are interested.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I have gone through my meter and i have no debt on it
the £2.03 i used was from sat morning at 10.30 till sun morn at 10 am
we was out in the garden all day and didnt come in till 7.15pm cos we had dinner out , so all was running was fishtank, fridges, freezers etc
going to get kwh reading now0 -
we have bought a electric plug in monitor and so far we have checked
1 small chest freezer- using 73 watts for a little while then cuts off
2 fridge sized freezers- both plugged into 1 plug-using 78 watts
3 ft fish tank -4 watts with light off, with light on -42 watts
paul is checking other freezer in garage
that one is running at-73 watts
im thinking of selling 2 freezers !
we have now turned off 2 and will see how it goes0 -
Hi Bojangles, for the freezers, it may be an idea to leave them plugged into the monitor for 12 hours as they will cut in and out rather than running constantly.
If you can condense down the freezer contents and just run 1 or 2 then it should help reduce the electric usage.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
When you visit the honky-tonks don't accept drinks - just take tips. That should help with the budget.0

Yes, leave the fridges and freezers recording for a day or two (or even a week) and work out weekly use.Same with the fish tanks.
What do you keep in your freezers? If it's shop bought stuff, would it be better to store it in the supermarket freezers? If it's stuff you hunt/catch/grow, you're offsetting some of the spending by saving on the shopping. I know people who fill their freezers with ready meals and bread even though they shop every week which seems mad to me.0 -

Wow! That's decisive action. You said the freezers were new this year. Are you sure you don't need them? And you're getting rid of your only fridge?0

errr....not sure what you are saying here?
have you posted in the wrong place??
M'Lud, tis but a reference to a popular tin pan alley beat combo hit written by a Mr Jerry Jeff Walker. I'll just up and die, shall I? I don't know, you're the one who chose the tag Bojangles, Bojangles.... after twenty years he still grieved.
He said "I dance now at every chance in honky tonks for drinks and tips.
But most of the time I spend behind these county bars,"
He said, "I drinks, a bit."

Mr Bojangles, Mr Bojangles ... dance!0
