I really still can't see why people are so tempted to get this gold plated penny in the first place.

As I have already stated a mint condition 1967 penny is worth about £0.30, plus the cost of the plating, which would be quite low I imagine.

I really doubt the penny you are getting is even worth the £2.50 postage you have to pay, not to mention all the hassle and stress it seems you are going to have to go through to cancel any future involvement with the company.

Yikes! - mine has just arrived by recorded delivery!!!!!!

Will send cheque for £2.50 (do not want to/would not recommend putting credit card details in) and then try cancelling.

If I cancel successfully will post how on here.

One thought - if they come by recorded delivery and are not signed for the post office will return them to the sender (and have an official record of doing so) within a week anyway.

Do you think the collectors will come and collect their unsolicited coins ?
I wont be posting them back anyway , and i wont be paying them , i doubt if i'll be high up on their mugs list i've only paid them £2.50 so far so i dont think they'll send me that many more i'll just have to wait and see .

Why on earth do you keep waffling on about them sending you "unsolicited coins". Did you not read THIS on their website when you sign up for the coin :-

"I also understand that if my application is successful
I will receive further coins in the Changing Face of Britain's
Coinage Collection to view, on approval and without obligation."
You have clearly agreed to receive these extra coins, so they are NOT unsolicited. You are under no obligation to keep them but they have NOT said they pay the return postage.
I can only hope you come to your senses now
  • I just recieved this email ;)

And yet 19 people have thanked the OP for this "useful post".

Why do people do this before knowing the full story about a supposed freebie. A lot of people have been sucked into this conning company now.

  • Never thought I would create such a negative response upon posting this offer.

My Brothers wife put me onto this one, she recieved one of these coins, and has not had anyone hassling her in the slightest about buying anything more. Recieved mine about a week ago now, so hoping I wont be hassled either.

Guess its a blessing im in the middle of moving
