  • Thank you KPC :D

I had to wait all day to open my swap box as it was DD's birthday today and it didn't seem right to be opening a pressie during her pressie opening session this morning. Then had to dash to work and had a really hectic day.

She's at a firework party at the moment so I thought it would be a good time.

Gloves are great, I'm desparately trying to remain 'hip' before I disappear next month.

I used to burn joss sticks when I was a student so the incense will bring back some memories - got a little excited over the little black circles - thought they were chocolate till I read the instructions :rotfl: Good job I didn't just eat one.

Loving reading about everyone elses experiences - great trying to guess who sent who what.

Thanks for organising it KPC :T

  • I have to admit that generally I am not at all 'girly' but when I read all the fun you had last year, I really wanted to join in. I also had a great time 'researching' my swappee to try and find things she would like/appreciate/use.

    THANKYOU
to KPC for organising the swapseees

Ditto from me KPC - it must take a lot of organising and be very stressful at the 11th hour when you start wondering if everyone's done their bit!

.........ummm... momentary lapse in my machodom, missy. All this talk of swap boxes got me all Bows 'n' Gingham!

People, I need your help. We're discussing biscuits at work, and the talk got around to these >linky<. All over the web seems to tell me they are called Mikado biscuits, but that's now how I remember them to be called. Any ideas?

I love those - can't remember the last time I had one though. I call them mallows, I've certainly never heard them called mikados..!

these biccis are made by Jacobs, they used to advertise them over here along with 2 others, Kimberly, and coconut creams.... does anyone remember the jingle? "Kimberly, mikado and coconut creams, someone you love will love someone?"

So Ajax, your research is correct -they're mikado biscuits.

Hi all, been desperate all day to open my pressie, and I think it's fab. Thanks to Lesley for the great book. ( A place to stay 30 extraordinary hotels) I love travelling an dthis will certainly give me some ideas and allow me to dream away the winter.

It's so nice to know everyone has liked their boxes.

.... sorry Delly, that means nothing to me. It must have been a 'wireless' jingle :p

.........yup FFM, I saw that page earlier - it was one of the ones I'd seen. I've never heard them called Mikados until today.... and being a G&S fan, that would have stuck.

We knew them as Malted Mallows :)
  • glad everyone is having so much fun! Also glad you didn't eat the discs ffm, but you would not have been suffering with the slimming winds if you had - don't we feed charcoal to dogs to prevent that problem? Have to say I have kinda lost track of everyone who has sent, recieved and everything else, so please please pm me if something has gone astray - it will help stop your swapperee being on pins!

i've never seen those biccies before i'm afraid. Glad to see that despite his time away, ajax is well in tune with the mood here - he's only been back two minutes and he's talking about biscuits.
