How do i join in with next months 5 pound club?
Eventually bought some scales for the house yesterday (been weighing myself at the gym which isn't all that regular) so going to make a huge effort now.
Hope everyone is well, and well done dragon and retiredlad - they are amazing losses!

Hi Carol - I think you have joined - just by asking! Welcome and thank you for my well done too! What sort of diet are you on? I go to slimming world and have been having a great time cooking meals in my Remoska lately. I find for me having lots of variety helps although I often go through patches were I lose quite slowly and think it it will never end and then I get a nice loss which re-engergises me!

Hi all, ooh you'll enjoy the wii Katie, I must get back onto mine (well its the kids'), it's great fun and exercise but life's been getting in the way.

I'm writing an article about my diss project, and have started researching for it, which kept me busy all day, and will mean lots of late nights. Then a suitable job not tooo far away came up last night, (the NHS vacancy emails arrive fairly late each night) so I spent a few hours battling with the application form. Lots to do still, but I can use part of it for future forms.

Well done to all the losers:T :T :A , I'm not doing so great foodwise, OH is having trouble at work so doing loads of OT and we keep having mini-disasters which eat into my cooking time, so eating lots of junk. Yesterday evening DS (15) bike was stolen, he only left it (locked) for 20 minutes:mad:, and he needs it to commute 3 miles to school. So spent a couple of hours in queues with police and insurance company:eek: , still I've now got clearance to buy a new one asap. Had aldi lasagne and oven chips for tea then though:o. Didn't sleep last night either, too wound up, so hope I manage better with food and exercise today:rolleyes: .

    Sorry for waffling/ranting:o,

    Jay xx
    Anytime;)

 jay you waffle away all you want that is the point, we are here to help:D talking about bikes, my DS has a too small one for him and no matter how many times he goes on about his back ache and we say that the bike is too small and he needs a bigger one he still won't get on (he has this idea if he gets one it will be for xmas and that is the only present he will get so would rather suffer back ache than have one:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) not that I would want to spend £100 plus on one, could well do without that so looking about for a second hand one, now he is 15 he has to stop riding the one he did a few years ago:rolleyes:

Fortunately or unfortunately whichever way you look at it the house is close to bear of food hanging in there until the end of the month so no cheating here:rolleyes:

OH has arranged for me a job centre plus 30 mins interview to direct me into a job on nov 4th after half term so looking forward to that, we have now with the mortgage a can cope for 3 weeks monetary wise and the last 10 days are a crippler:rolleyes: OH says to go into the retail line as once I get going love interacting with people, helping them etc so going to look at that, I think money can't buy the feeling of getting up in the morning and looking forward to work, it is the people that you work with that make it easier, happier and fun and I have worked with some fab people, that's what makes a good job, fab people and a good laugh:D

Feeling rough as rats the last couple of days, bunged up with snot & the like. Missing the gym but I'm too ill to go. C has been looking after me thou, cooking me soup and my dinners :p

Victory, have you looked on freecycle for a bike? Might be worth putting an ad on--I remember loving my old 'tarted up' bike as a teenager, and spending many happy hours with steel wool (removing rust), oil, and spray paint. Luckily, the kids bikes are insured as add-ons on the house insurance, only £15 excess, which we can manage, he was outgrowing it too, but still makes me mad! The job interview sounds hopeful, good luck! I know what you mean about looking forward to work each morning, having extra money doesn't hurt either:rolleyes:

Raph, have you used the 'reset' settings? The sensor and remote usually need to 'find' each other when they've been unplugged. Sorry you're feeling ill, soup sounds good for the diet though!

Yup! And the little button inside the battery bit of the remote that re-connects the sensor.
Oh well, I'll let the missus have a fiddle with it later.

  • i have great news . . . ..

    I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't mention it before because i felt like i'd jinxed the last one by getting too excited - also i know there are people in the office that use the board and my avatar is very recognisable.

I start 24th November at symingtons - the company that makes ainsley harriot couscous amongst other things. It's a very similar job to what I do now, but better pay, better hols, better hours and only 10 miles from home.

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
