Just had my daughter on the phone saying she has not got her maintenance loan paid into her bank account yet and what is she suppose to live on:eek: .
Her payment schedule from Student Loans said the first payment would be on the 22 September but it is now 25 September.
I told her I am sure it is on its way but I was wondering if anybody else has got theirs yet;) ?
Panic over. She has just rung to say she has got her student maintenance loan in her bank:T .
Oh no, panic again she then said she is now going clothes shopping  .Regards

According to it I should get £4625, has anyone else been in this situation before? Thank you.
Are you an existing student? If so then what the calculator says won't apply to you. They increased the income threshold to qualify for a grant to £60,000 but only for students starting this year. Existing students are still on the old £38,000 threshold.0 -

I was a student, but became quite ill, had to leave, took 18 months out to get better, and am now on a new course, paying the higher fees so presumably under the new rules. I know that my parents earn too much for me to get a grant, but I'm confused as to why the LEA and the SLC seem to have different guidelines for the amount of loan that I can have?
Is this your first year of your new course though? Paying the higher fees doesn't indicate that you come under the new threshold. I pay the higher fees but because I started in 2007, I am under the old threshold. Only those who start in 2008 have the new threshold.
If you are starting this year, did you apply for income assessed loan/grant. If not then they automatically give you the minimum amount of loan because they have no evidence of what your parents have earnt. If this is the case then you will need to fill in a change of circumstances form to get them to change it to income assessed and send off evidence of your parents income. The LEA and SLC don't have different guidelines. The SLC provide the LEAs with the computer system to assess applications and therefore it applies the SLC guidelines. If you have gone income assessed and you belive its wrong then contact them and find out about it.0 -

Nope not got mine either, I am swiftly losing the will to live!
Would call the SLC but I don't see the point as I know they will just tell me the same thing and I am afraid I will end up losing my temper. :mad:0 -
Mine was paid today - which is weird because I haven't registered in person yet (although I have registered online).0
