My daughters is being paid in 3 stages, the first is the smallest and we always knew she wouldn't have any money this week,so I had to dig deep for her myself. There is virtually nothing left once she paid accomodation and fees, and she has still to be told whether her Uni is paying the £900 bursary it originally promised.Without that she really is in trouble! Luckily she is a sensible lass and has avoided buying food out this week despite it being freshers! I sent her off with loads of food and she is a pretty good bargain hunter and cook. She has also managed to buy very few drinks-as she says, she watches her mates get drink and wonders why,as she is having just as good a time without being off her head!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

We have had the same thing dh got his letter saying expeced payment date of 24/09. However his registration day was wednesday, but he got told they don't inform SLC until the first official day of the course, which for him is mon 29/09..our rent is due on the 1st so I am praying it goes in pretty sharpish, but from what you are all saying it maybe about 2nd/3rd!!! Poop we really don't want to tell our landlords that he has given up work to go uni as apparantly they turned the previous viewers of the property down because they were students.........
I can't belive they bang on about opening up the possibility for everyone to go to uni but take this long to get the desperately needed money to them!!
I also don't need this stress as I am pregnant and this is worrying me sick I can't sleep because of it.

I haven't had anything from the SLC as yet, I enrolled last Wednesday and have asked the college to send confirmation of my attendence at least three times since then but the SLC are still saying they have not received anything.
Am now worried sick, I have absolutely nothing to live and I cannot actually get into the college to go to lectures! And it does not matter how many times I call up to chase the SLC they are blaming the college and the college is blaming them. I don't know what to do.0 -

Can't get an overdraft, I am a former bankrupt (discharged on 14/09/2008. I don't really want to go down that road again either. :eek:0

Ah ok. Are you getting any part of your loan as a grant? If you are, go and speak to student services, they should be able to sort an emergency payment if you can't afford food etcNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130
