I don't know, I find it quite useful to have some things in early (although not before October, really) so that I can spread the cost of buying christmas bits. It's when it all comes onto the shelves before the Summer holidays are over that I get annoyed.

It's the Christmas Carols playing instore from August that annoys me..and the decorations!

At Aldi the Belight Savour Bakes Summer Fruits Rice Slims are bloody disgusting. Tasted more Marmite with a strange aftertaste than summer fruits.

The caramel ones are bloody lovely. If you love caramel Snackajacks, you love these.

last year we went to Lidl late Oct perhaps early Nov and they had lots of interesting-looking German Xmas chocolate things, so I bought a couple of things to see if they were Ok, in which case I'd make the effort (it's further away than all other supermarkets) and go back for more. We found that the chocolate was delicious and things like liqueur chocs just as if we had bought really expensive ones, so I went back about 2 - 3 weeks later and pouff ! they'd all gone, so this year I'm going to go early and fill my shopping bag !
  • Lidl currently have gingerbread houses that you put together yourself for £4.99 a box. Apparently if you buy these from German market stalls they are very expensive. Think I'll get one and make it up just before Xmas (I'm a big kid really!) :j

I also got a lovely tall orchid plant for £3.99 the other week. I'd seen them in M&S around the same time for £25.00 (on offer)

Here's a list of things I buy regularly (and rate highly) from LidL:
    Bagels,
    Cream cheese (full fat version),
    Big tubs Greek yoghurt,
    Chorizo sausage,
    Tomato puree,
    Tinned Kidney beans,
    Luxury fruit mueseli,
    Cartons orange juice (100% juice),
    Anti-bacterial multi surface cleaner,
    Bleach,
    Kitchen Rolls,
Packs of 3 frozen margharita pizzas,
    Olives,
    Pesto,
    chocolate (39p per bar),
    Tins tuna (45p)
    Mayo

    I could go on! (but I won't) :D
  • There’s another debate going on: Tesco/ Lidl Ham and other things.
    Have a look.

Just got 5 tins of their brand of baked beans (Campo Largo?) for £1 - very handy for the January box! 500g tub of Utterly Butterly 75p
At least the fish fingers are still frozen, that's what I keep telling myself (Truly Madly Deeply)

I've tried one or two of the wines, and have found 3 really lovely ones at the lower end of the price range (although they appear to no longer stock one of them) and was just wondering if anyone has tried £idls Sherry or Port at all?
