Can anyone tell me if Lidl's washing powder is ok for eczema? My son gets it badly on his legs so I have bought nothing but Fairy non-bio for a long time. Do they actually have a non-bio one in Lidl?
I use Lidl's non-bio powder for all my washing, as DH's eczema is made worse by some of the other brands. The big box lasts me for ages, but we do live in a soft water area0 -
Thank you nesssie1702 we are also in a soft water area, I have a huge box of Fairy from Costco at the moment, but I definitely won't be using it again. Can you also tell me if there are any fabric softeners that are particularly suited to people with eczema? I have just bought Fairy for a long time as it seemed the best, but my son does still get nasty flare-ups of eczema on his legs.0

As someone who used to have terrible eczema I found that cutting out all fabric softner made it much better. I find that Lidl's non-bio powder does a good cleaning job and doesn't upset my skin at all. Now I only have trouble when I'm at other people's houses and it is fabric softner that causes me the most problem.Thank you nesssie1702 we are also in a soft water area, I have a huge box of Fairy from Costco at the moment, but I definitely won't be using it again. Thanks for the advice WendyR14 I had always worried about the washing powder and hadn't thought the fabric softener could also be making things worse! :eek:0 -
I am a big fan of Aldi. I've tried our local Lidl twice now but really don't like it. I don't find it particularly cheap, and maybe it's just my local store but it was not a pleasant shopping experience. Everything was crammed in and it was very down at heel. The till assistants were very grumpy too. I didn't really feel tempted by any of the foodstuffs. My local Aldi is far superior. Their own brands look much better quality than Lidl. I thought I could get better deals on a lot of the branded foods in Lidl at my local Morrisons.
Sorry- I know it has its fans but the Lidl near me does them no favours (daren't say where but it's in the NW)0 -
scared of being mugged by very grumpy assistants at Lidl?0

Lidl have for quite a while been on the black list of trade unions all over Europe for the way they treat their staff. They just paid a 6-figure fine in Germany when it came out that they were illegally spying on their employees.Germany
In September 2008 the competent privacy authorities in Germany imposed a fine of approximately 1.4 million Euro on the supermarket chain Lidl. Fines for individual stores ranged from 10.000 to 310.000 Euro.
Following an in depth investigation, Lidl was found guilty of having instructed several investigative agencies to systematically monitor employees regarding their private life, financial situation and behavior. Furthermore, Lidl was keeping and reading reports of the investigative agencies and did not appoint a responsible person for privacy protection within the company as it is required by German law. The keeping and reading of the reports led to fines between 3.000 and 15.000 Euro per report whereas the non-appointment of a responsible person for privacy protection within the company was fined with 10.000 Euro. In addition, Lidl was ordered to develop and implement a privacy policy.
If someone requests more reading matter on this and other occurences, I can deliver.
So no wonder the employees come across as grumpy every there and then.0 -
We can all feel grumpy when at work for whatever reason. If you're professional you don't take it out on your customers. Doesn't matter what the job is.0
