I can't believe it's Sunday already - I have been chasing my own tail for most of the week, it seems...

Friday - we had spaghetti with chorizo carbonara (DD had vegetable tortellini)
Saturday - spicy keema pees, HM naan - southern fried quorn burger and rice for DD
Sunday - that'd be tonight, unless we are very much mistaken; we will be having spicy lentil and homegrown carrot soup (carrots being the one crop that actually did well this summer)
Monday - sausage pasta bake (DD tortellini)
Tuesday - eat out ! a real ale and curry night with friends
Wednesday - chickpea and tomato soup (from freezer)
Thursday - potato stew (from freezer)

Having finally seen off the carpet fitters, I have managed to do a bit more baking today, so as well as the usual bread and rolls to have with meals and for lunches, we now also have coconut cake, Twink's hobnobs, and polenta biscuits to crunch on when we feel like something sweet....
  • Allegra, what is Spicy Keema Pees? It sounds very intriguing ;)

  • Some great menus there everyone!!

    Sausage Casarole

I use good quality sausages (min 90%) and gently fry for 5 mins to brown them off slightly. Then I add a chopped onion to the pan after taking sausages out and soften them for a few mins. Put SC on, then add the sausages, onions, chopped carrots and tin of baked beans. I usually add a sausage casarole mix from Lidls (19p) made with water and add a cupful of peas about an hr before serving. I will add anything that needs using...swede, turnip, sweetcorn etc etc and we serve with a baked spud.

This normally takes about 4 hrs to cook on a low/medium heat in the SC.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Ok, never actually posted my menu plan before so here goes.

Yesterday - Roast Chicken, HG roast potatoes, roast parsnip, HG boiled carrots, peas & s/corn.
Today - chicken & mustard pies (using chicken leftover from yesdy), leftover roast veg made into bubble & squeak
Tomorrow - Chilli mince & Rice (although for sake of DS1 its spicy mince cos he won't eat chilli!)
Wednesday - Sausage casserole (freezer) & mash HG pots for DH/Fried rice for rest of us (DH don't like fried rice and rest of us don't like sausage casserole!)
    Thursday - Spag bol
Friday - spicy prawn fishcakes & noodles
    Saturday - tikka chicken pizzas

Everything is made from scratch, recipes are all from my HUGE collection of magazine clippings!
    Banana Lovers
Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning
