If you get " upgraded " to a HSBC Premier Account, you will need at least £50,000 with HSBC.

Um with their new 'premier' account it just requires £500 a month.

They are getting rid of their premier premier account if you had read the other posts ;)

Strange, my letter from HSBC mentions an " Advanced Bank Account " no mention of " Premier ".

I think you are talking about the "Plus" account? That's the one you get when you pay in £500+ pm. HSBC Premier is a separate banking division of HSBC Group for customers with relatively high net worth/income.

I am thinking about it. As for the good customer service my local branch is understaffed and not very helpful and the telephone service is useless and the internet is good for checking accouonts and not much.

You can keep your private clients. Please don't tell us the banks have our interests at heart.

I take offence to the poster who said that the staff were brain washed..

That was me, I stand by my comments.

I sadly do not share your enthusiasm in the HSBC, that, as far as many customers are concerned, is going downhill rapidly.

Oh and BTW, I am not one of those customers that HSBC clearly despise, those with small funds that are clearly such a nuisance to HSBC.

I am a long standing customer of Midland/HSBC, I am just saddened to see what was a great institution turn in to a money grabbing outfit.

I totally agree with you the Midland and HSBC in the earlier days were a great bank but now they are a wasste of space.

I fail to understand why would anyone be proud to support a bank and a brand like HSBC?

I thought the things like basic bank accounts were a government idea?

What does my local branch do for me? Makes me queue up for hours and that's it really.

Thats the same with every bank...

I have never had a problem with HSBC and find their customer service extremely good.

But everyone to their own I guess.

Also I never have queues because I use the machines instead of wasting time of cashiers...

Erm ..you are not wasting the time of cashiers, that is why they are there, well the few that are left these days.

My four cashier window branch has now got two cashier windows left, one of them is often closed, that together with nearby smaller branches being closed, adding to the numbers of customers using the few remaining branches.

    That's progress HSBC style.
