That's right. It is your fault, it's your fault for giving them your debit card details and it's your fault for being too ignorant to comprehend the words in the terms and conditions. No one forced you to apply for E-Platinum.

Truth hurts. I'm not here to make you feel better, I tell it straight. If you can't handle that then I suggest you move on.

I had a little giggle while reading your message.

Firstly, the payments weren't taken against her will, she agreed to it when she applied. She agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions by hitting the Apply button. Is it truly that hard to comprehend that? I don't think I could rewrite that in to a way she would understand (unless of course I use "baby talk").

As for your over compensation comment... typical chav-like behaviour. :rotfl:

  • Try to read this properly she applied online and was told she would be charged £39.99 for this service the company then took 3 payments of £39.99 out of her account, comprehend so far she waited on the phone for 30 mins to finally be connected and was told that she can cancelled no problem and would get a full refund then she check her bank and instead of refunding they took another 3 payments you tell me where in the small print they say they are going to do this i can understand being ripped off for a joining fee but cant understand 6 joining fees within 1 week of joining and in between cancelling. do you understand why they would take six payments in one week as it is obviously acceptable to you.

Has she contacted them again regarding this? The £39.99 should have only been taken once so obviously there has been an error. If they still do not refund, then report it to the bank.

  • That is why she is so aggrieved we have a young family and £240 is alot of money to us, so i would appreciate if you wouldn't harp on about reading the terms and conditions as she actually did and they have overcharged her as of contacting them they are conveniently closed over the weekend which is when they take payments out the bank and now she has closed the account down am not sure how they are going to refund her as I am on willing to give my details to these crooks.

Payments cannot be taken out of a bank account on a weekend. Ever.

Why on earth would be signing up for something like this anyway? They charge you each month for being a member, not to mention their products being very expensive. I don't know how much success she'll have contacting the bank but E-Platinum should refund these charges.

She should try opening a catalogue account such as Littlewoods or Kays.
