  • Can someone please help me? I very stupidly completed this from a link on Facebook and after realising it was an automatic sign up, I emailed then twice to cancel my interest and instructed them not to take any monies from my account. Yesterday they took £99.95 from my account. I have since sent a further two emails and tried repeatedly to contact them by phone with no success. There is absolutely nothing I can find on a cancellation policy.

I know I have been incredibly stupid but can anyone help me get my money back?

    Taken from there website..

If you are still within the 14 days of signing up then section B states you need to write to them at the address to cancel or if you live near enough to them, taking them the letter. You should send it recorded mail and also keep all copies as well. The 14 days comes under the distance marketting act which is the law of the land and something they must adhere to. It appears you will be entitled to a full refund if this applies.

If it is over 14 days, but within 30 days, then it's a bit more complicated. You need to contact them (personally I would write, again keeping copies and also recorded mail) and you will receive a return autorisation number. Once you have this you need to send all membership documents and the card to them. You won't get all your money back it seems, but at least you will be rid of them.

You're not the first and you won't be the last to think you are getting a standard credit card with £5,000 limit and no fee, so don't beat yourself up over it. Just make sure in the future you take full note of all the terms and conditions (something which again many of us have learnt the hard way).

    15. REFUND OF CARD MEMBERSHIP: A. If I cancel My enrollment into the E-Credit Plus™ Shopping Club Program after fourteen (14) days from this Agreement, but within thirty (30) days from receipt of the Welcome Kit and E-Platinum Plus Shopping Card, I will receive a refund of My enrollment fee, but I must first contact the Company to obtain a Return Authorisation number. Upon receiving My return authorisation number, I will be required to return all membership documents as well as My E-Platinum Plus Shopping Card to: E-Credit Plus™, 2 Minton Place, Victoria Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 6QB United Kingdom. REFUND GUIDELINES MUST BE CAREFULLY FOLLOWED TO ASSURE A PROMPT REFUND OF MONIES. There will be a fee of £15.00 deducted in the event that any debit previously authorised by Me has been returned unpaid by My bank for any reason. There will be no refund in the event that there are Unpaid Balances posted to My Account or if there are pending merchandise orders. I must allow at least seven (7) business days from the Company's receipt of My membership materials for My refund to be processed. Included in My membership fee is a non-refundable application fee. If the refund of card membership procedure is met, the Company will refund My enrollment fee only. IMPORTANT: Merchandise return policy and instructions are explained on the product order forms and/or on the shopping Web Site.

    B. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, You have the right to cancel this agreement under the Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004. This right to cancel ends on the expiry of fourteen calendar days beginning with the day after the agreement is concluded. You can cancel by sending or taking a WRITTEN notice of cancellation to, 2 Minton Place, Victoria Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 6QB United Kingdom. If you intend to cancel, you should not use any goods you have under the agreement and you should keep them safe (legal action may be taken against you if you do not take proper care of them).

I STUPIDLY applied for this card today. Was so worried and didn't think I was going to get all of the £99.95 fee back but have just phoned them, took a while to get through. I was very pleasant with them and explained the products on their website weren't things that I would buy. The lady on the phone tried to convince me not to cancel by saying that they would waiver fees etc.

I have been told that I will get all my money back and it should be in account 3-5 days. I'll let you know. If you do contact them, I suggest that being as pleasant as possible.

    Hope this helps.
  • Do not touch this it has a UK base in Oxford which is only a Accounts address the 2 Directors of the so called Comapny live in America so the money you pay them goes straight out of this Country.
  • Thank goodness I read this, after having been through bankruptcy and now saving a deposit to buy a house in three years, myself and hubby are always looking for ways to boost credit. This card is a scam it is not a credit card which helps boost credit rating look at terms and conditions of card which confirms this.;)

Not being horrible but sometimes think people have no intelligence what so ever.

I mean come on what intelligent person is going to apply for a so called guaranteed credit card with no credit check, and not realize something might be a bit fishy here.
  • CAUTION THIS IS NOT A CREDIT CARD!!!

It is indeed a pre-payed electronic money product!
    FEES GALORE:

There is an initial set-up fee (which in honesty is common for many bank / debt schemes)
    You will be charged
    set up fee (~£99)
    monthly admin fee (~£4.99)
An inactivity fee (if you don't use it within 12mths ~£19).
Monthly repayment fee (15% of all purchases)

But, because you don't pay interest (the company covers its costs etc through purchase commissions and the admin fees etc) then it is legal to state it is a 0%APR - which, by definition, it is!

Beware: If you want the credit card - you have to apply separately

through either Banque Invik (Luxembourg) or Card One Banking (depending on the scheme they e-Credit Plus is running at the time).

Now - because you have just been accepted for the e-credit purchase scheme, they CLAIM your credit rating is improved and continues to get improved each month (as you make the monthly direct debited admin fees -assuming you can cover these!), thus improving your credit rating and improving your likelihood of getting more debt via the Card One credit card (or any other debt facility for that matter)! Again - they do not and will not substantiat or prove this and of course this is also all on the assumption that you have £ in your account to actually pay the monthly direct debit and indeed the cost of 15% of the purchases you have made (which incidentally, can only be made via their website - and the prices are above typical online market value)
If you can't pay the admin fee and the 15% of purchase value - like all credit schemes - look out!

I'm not here to judge - but if you are bust, or no/poor credit etc then one must question ones-self as to whether getting into more debt and more monthly financial commitment is indeed the sensible the right thing to do???
Final note - their Admin Charge Scheme and Direct Debit scheme is legal - you agree to it in your T's and C's - READ THEM and BEWARE - ALWAYS!!!

    APPROACH WITH MUCH CAUTION

Just managed to find this on here. We have been fighting with this company since March 2010 when they took £79.95 from my husbands LTSB account. My husband hadn't signed up for it - at the time he was having other problems with the account - LTSB very quickly refunded the money. We sent back all the necessary paperwork that the bank wanted and thought that was the end.

Well 2 months later the money was once again taken from his account, again contacted the bank disputing this transaction and once again it was refunded - same paperwork sent to bank (this time faxed from local branch).

Then when hubby was on holiday in Turkey in July the money was once again taken from the account. Cue expensive phone call from Turkey and he had to go into local branch on return to sort it out. Once again refunded back into his account after all paperwork was once again filled in.

Fast forward to November and YES! once again the money has been taken from his account. The reason being that this company have a receipt with hubby's card details on it, so that is proof that it was him. And yes once again he has to send them more paperwork stating that it was not him that made this transaction. The thing is they state that they send out a memership pack, he never received one of these.

Hubby hardly uses his card online and I think the original problem came shortly after an online game he plays was hacked.

I checked out this site and it is a big scam, prices are ridiculous. Definently a scam.
