We're all adults and blessed with a brain, it's our choice to conduct 'due diligence' before we commit to anything, the company like Provident, Quick Quid etc etc are taking advantage of their being so many people who are
a) skint
b) not intelligent
c) lacking in self control
d) desperate to get the kid a wii but their benefits only pay the booze and cigs bill, not food or entertainment.
There's no harm in making money out of other peoples plight, we all have choices and Facebook wouldn't be what it is without advertising revenue, simples!
Well said. Couldn't agree more.
People only consider it a scam because they've failed to read the terms and conditions and obviously because they didn't do that, E-Platinum is to blame.
No one seems to take responsibility for their actions. It is always the other companys fault.. despite them making the charges available for all to read. We’ve had to remove your signature. I have just joined this forum specifically to defend those people who have fallen foul of E Credit and their associates.
First DO NOT JOIN whilst it is not a 'scam' it is targeted at those in dire need of help and desperate. Yes they prey on peoples gullabilty, and yes you should always read the T&C to check but on this site that is not always possible until to late.
To further emphasise the problem with this particular 'offer' is that is is not only marketed direct by E Credit but also by 'affiliates' .
For forum members to resort to mindless attacks on those that have signed and need help is despicable. You are only compounding their problems.
Please answer forum questions with useful advice not personal attacks.
TO REPEAT DO NOT JOIN OR TAKE UP THEIR OFFER and beware of Facebook Ads, many are very dubious.0 -

anything I've written is no more 'mindless' than you calling them 'gullible'
What's wrong with them having 'affiliates', check out how many affiliates MBNA has? Nothing wrong in that.
How are we compounding their problems? if someone is not diligent enough to read easily accessible T's & C's, or can control themselves enough to hit the back button then maybe someone pointing it out may stop them from making their next 'ill informed decision'
How are E Plat plus 'preying on them'? They post an ad and then the applicant has to click all the pages to make the application, it's not like they're been forced into the application under duress.
If you see this as some sort of forceful marketing I'd hate to see you conduct yourself when people are trying to sell you Sky or Credit Cards in shopping centres where the footfall is reduced, example in doorways and at bottom of escalators.
I was declared BR in 2007 due to RBS taking £40K out of my account by 'technicality', I was a letting agent and they took my clients monies, leaving me in a position of having to go BR for £130K. I knew what I was doing when I took the £40K overdraft to expand my business because I read the T's and C's, but when they took the money back I had to live with it (for some years to come), I know what it's like to be fleeced on a far higher scale than anyone ever has by E plat plus.
One thing I wouldn't do is come onto a forum all condescending and patronising and behaving like some sort of guradian :A, you need to sit down with yourself and have a word with your ego my friend.0 -

Maybe vulnerable people should show more self control??
If it was illegal to deal with vulnerable people, Provident would of been closed 20 years ago, these companies offer a service to people that is transparent, it may not be morally correct, but the T's & C's are clear about how they go about their business.
The onus is on the individual to do their own due diligence.
I don't like the fact that there are british manufacturers making bullets and bombs and then selling them to unfriendly nations who may fire them back at us, but unfortunately that's life.0 -

It does state in there "Membership Terms", found at the bottom of there E Catalogue home page, that if you cancel after 14 days but before 30 days thaey will give you your membership money back as long as all goods are returned unused.
I hope this helps anyone else who gets caught out as I did.

PS. only just written so fingers crossed!
I just got scammed by them too cant believe I would fall for it. I was just updating my facebook status and seen the add thought it was a credit card it wasnt until the approval page popped up that the word "catalouge" was used. I'm going to write to them and cancel in the morning and hopefully that will be the end of that......This company is a disgrace and I hope something is being done about it0 -

If you haven't signed anything, there is no need to cancel, let them send you E-mails telling you that this is your final oppertunity to take this up, when you receive them just delete it everytime. You will recognise them in your in box, allowing you to delete without opening.Like good food and drink?
