Just to let those of you know who are still concerned as to whether your cheque gets there in time.

I waited about a week for the application letter requesting a cheque, after applying over the net.

I sent the form and cheque back last Thursday, got an email yesterday to say it had been opened and on checking my current account just now,the money has been taken. So not bad going, when you consider how busy they will have been ,especially when the interest rate dropped so much.

I sent the form and cheque back last Monday by normal 1st class post, but I have heard nothing yet.

Did you sent yours by next day or recorded delivery? Cheers.

I sent a cheque on the 13th using their prepaid freepost envelope and it was processed on Saturday 18th.

Like speculator,i sent them via the prepaid envelope which was i think 1st class. When you say last monday do you mean the 20th,if so then it should be processed end of this week or early next.

It was actually for my wifes account and she was not an existing AA account holder.

She did not send any ID because the letter said no ID required. Maybe it's the ID thats delaying your account being opened.

If I were you, I would call them on 01902 325504 (choose option 2).

BTW, I have found this account takes faster payments as my additional deposit arrived same day.

I did consider making a faster payment form my Tesco Internet a/c but was not sure if has to be from the linked account.

My Linked account is with Halifax and they're starting to implement FP. Does anyone know if Halifax has a sending limit??

My linked account is with Lloyds. However, if you make the payment online it takes 3-4 days, if you do telephone banking and speak to an advisor, it's there in 2 hours. However, over the weekend I did a payment from A & L to AA and it's not a linked account, it took 3 days. So long as you have the sort code, acct. nos and ref no. it doesn't matter that it's not a linked account. I assume that was for the initial set-up.. That's what I was told. Anyway all money has successfully arrived in the new account.

Just sent two faster payments to my AA bond from my Tesco Internet a/c. Both arrived within 2 hours. :)

Today is the last day that you can send payments (by FP or CHAPS) to your 7.21% AA bond.

I forgot to make a note of the maturity date for this account.

Does it mature on a specific date or twelve months from the date of first deposit?

    Thanks in advance.
