Can anyone tell me how much chocolate you use in one of these? And what about adding oil?? Thanks
  • Hi Guys, couple of questions,
I bought two of the curry's chocolate fountains as christmas gifts
do they come with any chocolate? if not what sort / brand of chocolate do I need to buy? is there anything in Aldi or Lidl that will do the job? and what quantity do these things need to work 500g?

    Thanks in advance!

You'll find most of the answers if you read this thread. No, they don't come with any chocolate.

Not a chocolate fountain but a chocolate fondue set is £8 in Lloyds Chemist.
Its electric with a little metal saucepan and some molds for chocolate stars, hearts and christmas trees, spatula & forks. I've seen one at £19.99 and not as good.
My little boy will love dunking marshmallows & doughnuts in it & i'm going to borrow it for chocolate strawberries! Yum, Yum!

The commercial fountains cost up to £4500 and take 10kg of chocolate to fill so no good for the home unless you really like your chocolate lol.

Just to state - I am in no way associated with the following site and I am just using it as an example of the chocolate type best to get -

    http://www.vantagehouse.com/HBIngredients/HB_Price_List.htm

    order number - 823-553 for 2.5kg (3rd block down)

Thanks to MarkJ113 (page 4) for the link to the exceptionally nice folks at vanatagehouse.com.
Chocolate and marshmallows ordered and am ready to go......
  • Done something very silly....
I took the instructions out of the box last week and have lost them! I expect they will show before Xmas (though am worried could be found by the person the gift is for...). It is 1kg thats needed for this, is that correct? Also, is it possible to use dark choc and then add cream? Or would this be risky, anyone know?
    Cheers.

Do you think Nutella will work as the sell 750g jars in Costco for £2.50.
