    What is the code jackie?
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

The only factoid I can see in this thread is that chocolate causes constipation! What is the source of your comment?

Thanks Jackie, mine is now ordered :D

You will find the code in the Empire Stores forum - don't know if Im allowed to post it here, I used the one that was £15 off £30 plus free dinner set the first time and £15 off £30 the next. My friend (who ordered something else herself) used the first code I had used at the same time as my second order and that still worked so worth trying - it will come up with a message if the code doesn't work.
  • Weused ours on a New years Eve Eve party, using Lidls milk and dark choc, together with the cocoa powder stuff. The instructions say that the choc will melt in an hour and as there was only an electric stove (the party was in a bedsit) we went for this option. It took 3 hours, and when we switched to flow it was pathetic. Has anybody had to return theirs? Do they have replacements? Or should we just try again? The chef present at the party agreed that it just wasn't warm enough.

Much better would be to melt the chocolate in a bain marie. How many watts does the fountain consume?
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

Ours worked best when we melted the chocolate in the microwave. Also I wish I'd though of mopping up the leftover chocolate with rice krispies or something, as there was quite a bit we felt too ill to eat.

There was no bain marie (or even large bowl). An electric stove uses plenty I'm sure. The point is surely, though, that it should be able to melt the chocolate within an hour as stated on the instructions, and keep it warm enough to flow through if you choose to do so? It didn't 'flow' at all, and kept needing to be scooped out the top.

The owner of the machine wants to try again (cos he's worried he'll only get a refund not a replacemenet I think!) but I don't think its good enough.

But how many watts is the chocolate fountain itself?

Mine lives elsewhere so I don't have this info to hand. Considering how rarely most people use theirs I'm sure the electricity used is farely negligable if that was your concern!
